Change

I woke up this morning, and for the first time in my life I agreed with Obama…. the world needs Change. So, I text my favorite hair stylist and she made an appointment for me that day to get my hair cut! :) YAY! I needed it SO bad! So, here is the before…

Seriously, why is it that any time I take a picture of myself, it looks like a mug shot! Anyway, this is the best I could find. See, long hair.

Happy Birthday Jenn

I turned 31 this year. I am sad to say that I am now closer to being 40 than I am 20. :( Oh well, I have a lot to show for my life, so I am not so sad. :) David and the kids were great to me. I got to go shopping ALONE for about 3 hours, and I got a few shirts. Then, David took me out to dinner at a delicious restaurant with a few of our friends. It was a great day. David was silly and got me a random Justin Bieber card (whom I don’t even like). I think the thought it would make me feel young. Well, it made me laugh so I guess that is a win. :) He also got me a DELICIOUS ice cream cake, that we all devoured by the next day. I have such a great family! :)

Happy Mothers Day

These 2 beautiful kids have made me the happiest Mom in the world. I have had an amazing day! More details to come. :)

Mother’s Day

We had a very low key and laid back Mothers Day. It was great. The kids were fantastic, and David and I were able to relax. David made an AMAZING dinner of ribs and corn. Mmmmmm, so delicious! And we pretty much watched Grey’s Anatomy all day. I got David pretty hooked on it. :) In Preschool, Tucker made me the cutest Mother’s Day Gift…

IMAG0973 IMAG0972I absolutely love it! :)  David and the kids got me a card, and I got new measuring spoons and measuring cups which I have been wanting. :) I know, kind of lame, but it was what I wanted.

In church Tucker went up and sang with all of the Primary kids on the stand for the first time. I felt like I had arrived as a Mom that day. I can remember when I would go on the stand when I was in primary, and I loved it. We weren’t sure exactly how he would do, but he was FANTASTIC! He “sang” the song, and did all of the hand motions. Granted, sometimes he was a beat or two behind on things, but he did great! I definitely got a little teary eyed watching my baby boy up there. It was the BEST part of my Mother’s Day. I cannot wait for him to do it on Fathers Day, and I am even MORE excited for him to do the Primary Program in September. :)

I am one very lucky Mommy to have such great kids! :)

Update Time

A few weeks ago some friends and I decided to take the little ones swimming at the gym. We had so much fun. Here is Bailey in her first little swimsuit. Adorable right?!?! :)

IMAG0927 In true bad Mom fashion, I failed to get a picture of Tucker. There is always next time. I only had Bailey in the water for about 15 minutes because Tucker would not leave the steps without me and I couldn’t carry both of them. So, once our other friends got there, I changed Bailey and went and dropped her off in the childcare. Tucker was scared at first to go out too far because as we were first getting in, he didn’t realize the drop after the steps and went out a little to far. Good thing he had his floating ring on. When I got back into the water he was still hesitant on going out very far, but I made him because I knew he would have fun. After a few minutes he didn’t even need me with him to swim. He had his floating ring and he was good. After awhile we switched with our friend and he had the arm floaters on. That gave him a whole new sense of independence. He had SO much fun. Next time I will have to take more pictures for sure.

Anytime David gives me a hug, Tucker always has to squeeze himself in between us, and then he says, “Squeeze me!” So one Sunday we were laying on the bed watching a movie and Tucker came to snuggle in between us, and we took the opportunity to squeeze him. Of course, he wanted to make sure that I take MANY pictures of our game. :) As you can see we were all enjoying ourselves pretty well.

I had the music up the other day, and we were all doing our thing cleaning and playing while Daddy was at work. At one point I seemed to have lost track of Bailey. I knew she was in the house somewhere, and I wasn’t too concerned because there really isn’t anything she can get to that can cause too much harm or damage. I walked around calling her name and then I noticed her door was open. I quietly walked into her room and this is what I found…

IMAG0945 She is such a girl. She LOVES her some shoes. :)

These last two pictures are just some of the kids waiting for dinner last night. I couldn’t help but take a picture of them both being so good. I love my babies!

9-Month’s Old

Our little Bailey Bug turned 9-Months Old yesterday!

I cannot believe how fast these last 9 months have gone by. It is SO crazy! We took her in for her check-up this afternoon and here are her stats…

Heights: 28.5 inches

Weight: 22.11 pds.

Head: 44.75 cm.

So she is growing right along. We compared her stats to Tucker’s and we finally found a reasonably close match to when Tucker was… 4-Months old! Yes, that is right. Tucker was as big at 4-months old, as Bailey is now…. well, he was an inch shorter and a pound lighter, but close enough. CRAZY! But, we love out little bug, and we love our big bubba! :)

She sleeps like a champ! We put her to bed at night between 7:30 and 7:45 typically. She sleeps through the night (and has since she was about a month old). She takes a nap at 10:00 for a couple of hours, and another one at 2:00 for a couple of hours. When it is time for her nap or bedtime, we are able to just lay her down and she does pretty well. We have been able to do that with her for quite some time now. With Tucker, I think he was 11-months old before we had to rock him to sleep. She is such a good baby girl! :)

Bailey is OBSESSED with bath time. Especially if she gets to take a bath with her big brother. Fortunately, Tucker enjoys taking a bath with Bailey as well. If we leave the bathroom door open, she makes a B-line for the bathtub and pulls herself up on her knees and hits the side as if to say she wants in. It is so cute! :)

Bailey is all over the place now. She crawls like a madman when she hears any outside door open. It is as if she is trying to break out or something. She loves having her independence to get where she wants, and when. We brought out Tucker’s old toys from this age and she is in heaven. Funny enough, Tucker is also. He LOVES playing with the “new” toys with Baby. Bailey is pulling herself up on everything, and if Tucker is laying on the floor, all she wants to do is climb on him. She absolutely loves her brother and they are the best of friends. She is pulling herself up to her knees everywhere she can. Every once in awhile she will get bold and pull herself up to her feet, but she is still pretty shaky. We are A-OKAY if she waits longer than Tucker did to start walking. Tucker started at 9 months and 3 weeks. So, we are looking like she will probably be a 12 month walker which is OK with me. :)

Her first little tooth finally poked through last Friday (the 4th). It seems as though it has taken forever, but in true fashion I’m sure they will all start making their way through now that one has made it. She loves eating her cheerios and any other little finger foods we give her. I am trying to remember what she can eat now that she is old enough to have big kid food. As much as I don’t want her to grow up though, I cannot wait for her to turn 1 so we can eliminate the stupid formula purchases. That will free up some change for sure. With the weather starting to change, she is going to need some cutsie shorts for sure. :)

We adore our little Bailey Bug and she brings such a sweet spirit to our family. Every morning Tucker wants to go in and help get her when she wakes up. When she sees Daddy her eyes and body light up. She loves her family as much as we love her. I cannot wait to see how she continues to grow and develop her own amazing personality.
