I am blogging because I feel guilty that I never document anything about my sweet Mason.
He's 18 months now. He's such a sweetheart. He's very very very different from Jaxon. Just a totally different personality. He's a bit more laid back. He'll sit in his room and entertain himself for awhile sometimes, which is fabulous. He's also a great sleeper. He'll sleep for about 12 hours at night, then take a 2 hour nap in the day. awesome!
He has these beautiful curls that I just LOVE. His hair is darker than Jaxon's was at this age. So, I'm thinking he'll go brown as he gets older. (Jaxon is too). Both boys have the same color of eyes, which is kind of a grayish hazel color. They both have such gorgeous eyes. It also seems like both boys got my olive skin! yes!
I thought Jaxon was a bad eater...yeah Mason is worse. Didn't think that was possible. I have two horrible eaters. He is weirded out by textures a lot. He's soooo picky.
Some things he DOES like are:
-hamburger
-oatmeal
-fruit snacks
-pb & j (sometimes)
-pizza
-usually any kind of candy
-yogurt
-cheese
-cookies
He won't really eat any type of pasta. He's real weird with oranges. Its hard to know what he'll like and dislike. He doesn't eat much either. He also doesn't like milk or juice really. He won't even drink chocolate milk. Every morning I get him to drink some whole milk warmed up in a bottle, but that's about all he'll do through out the day. He loves water and usually only wants that.
Mason is starting to worry me because he is SO behind in like every way. I know I'm used to Jax, who went above and beyond for his age group. (that kid was and IS so smart). Jaxon wanted to learn, Mason DOES NOT care about learning or progressing. He doesn't have the drive or motivation the way jaxon does.
Mason FINALLY started walking at 17 months. I was starting to get real worried. Andrew did a little bit of physical therapy, and Mason just took off. (thank goodness) Now he's running around like crazy. Mason is also very petite (unlike jax was). He's pretty skinny and weighs probably around 21-ish lbs.
Mason is not talking either. Big concern because Jax was saying SENTENCES at this age. Mason says "cookie", but that's about all...We try to teach him, but again, he just doesn't really care to learn. He jabbers like crazy in his cute little baby language, but that's about it. He goes to the Dr. tomorrow and I'm gonna see if he can be in any speech therapy programs...i think it would help him. I just don't know how to deal with this since Jax was so different. Jax learned on his own basically, we didn't work with him a lot, he just caught on. Mason is so very different. I hope the Dr. can give me some tips and advice on how to handle it.
Mason also doesn't seem to be able to comprehend certain things. Or even care really. We'll tell him "no" and he doesn't seem to get it. When we told "no" to jax, he understood and learned. Jaxon was and is also very sensitive and expressive. Mason, not so much. I'm thinking Jaxon is more like me and Mason must take after the Talbot side a bit more...I don't know.
As far as wellness, both kids are pretty healthy. No major problems, we are so lucky. Other than the common winter colds, they are really healthy.
Mason loves his Grandpa Gentry. He'll perk up whenever he sees him. He'll just nuzzle his face into him and give him lots of loves. Mason also loves animals and laughs when he sees them. He's not afraid of them, which I am glad. He's had no reason to be.
Mason loves his big brother. Watches him like a hawk. For the most part, they get along.
Anyway, this is just a little update on my Mas. I love this baby so much.
