My sister sent me a link to a music video that my nephew had to do for his theater class. It was supposed to be a group project, but apparently no one wanted to be in Ethan's group .... too bad for them! He wrote the story board, directed the entire production, starred in said production, AND did all of the final editing. It is amazingly well-done ... please share!

A Beautiful Video
I know I haven't been around for .... um .... well ... 2 YEARS or so. I thought I would begin my reunion with the blogger by sharing a really really really beautiful video for the season. I will update the family news soon-ish ;-)
Enjoy -and Merry Christmas!

No electricity and Haircuts
Last night was a fun night - and the fun just continued this morning! Last night we had the first real power outage the smaller kids had ever seen. I was away from home on a visit and came in to find the family eating dinner by the light of my oil lamp (which is good because the rest of the candles/emergency lights are buried in the garage somewhere) and Joshua in absolute hysterics. He was terrified that not only was it dark, but he could not do anything about it. My first thought was that he would be fun on a campout. It took some doing, but we got Josh calmed down just in time for the power to return (about an hour in all). Ben and Ginny went from room to room turning on lights and squealing with delight as the lights actually worked. Just as quickly, Joshua turned off every light in the house. When I asked him why, he said that we need to turn off the lights so that we don't run out of electricity again. His power saving frame of mind continued this morning, and I am doing nothing to discourage it.
In other news, also this morning, Byron mentioned that it was time to get the boys' hair cut. Ben immediately piped up to say "I want to have a bald head like Daddy." We all got a good laugh, but Ben was quite serious. I told Byron that I would buzz his head and we would save money on a hair cut. Here is before:

I went with a No. 4 guard first because Ben looks bald even with short hair and I figured a little would go a long way. After finishing this, Ben looked at the mirror and informed me that he wasn't bald enough:
So, I looked for the No. 2 guard, which I could not find. In the meantime, Ben fished out the one green guard we have (a gift from Aunt Cyndi) and decided that it would be that or nothing. The green guard is No. 1/2 and is literally just above the blades. But, Ben was sure, so now we have Q-ball Ben - and he is a happy boy:
