3.  The cost to recycle plastic bags so outweighs their value that most recycling facilities will not take them

5.  The US alone uses approximately 100 billion new plastic bags per year

New Store Alert: Thread – Houston

We’ve got the inside scoop on Thread, a stylish kids’ consignment store that just opened today in Houston’s The Heights. Emphasis on stylish–this is not your typical consignment store.
Thread only accepts new and extremely gently used duds from name brands. It’s the perfect solution for dressing your kids in name brand/designer clothes and shoes when they’re growing so quickly! Yes, we’re talking to you, mom-who-bought-her-toddler-j brand-jeggings.
The store is run by two friends and UT Austin alums who share a love of fashion and a dislike of spending small fortunes on their kids’ clothes. They were both retail merchandising majors who have since gained fashion and retail expertise.
