Sunny Southern California & Snow to play in?! Yes, you can! We took the boys up to Big Bear and playing in the snow! We had soo much fun! It was sunny and beautiful! A wonderful day together!

Image Maxwell loved the snow! He would fall down on purpose and roll around in the snow!

Image Aiden had such a great time making snow balls and throwing them at Mommy and Daddy!

Image Yep, that's my sexy snow-bunny of a husband!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas always takes so long in coming and then, before you know it, it's over! We had another crazy Downs Family Christmas this year!
Image This is what happens when 5 families and 2 Grandparents have Christmas in the same house!

Student of the Month!

Aiden earned a spot on the "Pyramid of Success" in school(student of the month)! He earned it for "self control"...apparently he uses it all at school and has none left for home :)

Image Hooray for Aiden!

Image Mrs. Lock was so proud of how well Aiden is doing now!

Image We are so proud of you Aiden!!

Happy Thanksgiving and a Merry Wedding!

This Thanksgiving, we went to Mesa, Arizona for Bumpa's wedding! We had such a fun time meeting Susan's family. We got to eat yummy food, decorate the church, and by golly... we were the life of the par-tay!!
Image I got to play Hair-dresser! I fixed my Aunt Gwen's hair, Alex's hair, and Christie's hair! They looked Amazing, of course!!

Aiden, you kill me...

So, Trevor has been doing so great, he's buff and in-shape,(a real double-edged sword for me, sure, he looks hot, but now I look like a fatty) but Halloween has been hard on him... he loves candy. So, this is how he kept himself from eating candy every time he walked by the bowl:
Image Aiden came downstairs Sunday morning with a tummy ache, big surprise. We told him it was probably from all the candy he ate. 10 minutes later he went to grab a piece of candy(I know, he listened so well) and saw Trevor's sign. "What is this for Daddy?" he said, after reading it. "I keep eating candy every time I walk by it and I'm getting sick from it. So I put a sign in the bowl to remind me not to eat it." Trevor explained. That was the end of the discussion... But, a few minutes later, Aiden went and grabbed a 3x5 card and a pencil and took Trevor's card with him to the table. Trevor and I exchanged a "he's not doing what I think he is, is he?" glance, then Aiden returned and put Trevor's card back into the candy bowl and placed this in his own candy bag:

Image Notice that it's even in all capitol letters just like Trevor's note. This child is going to be the death of me.
He's hysterical!

Happy Halloween!

This year Halloween was going to be kind of a bummer...Trick-or-Treating was on Sunday. So, 38 families from our church decided to do our own on Saturday! It turned out awesome and the kids loved it! We carved pumpkins, Aiden carved his own with very minimal help from mommy, and we had a great time at Aunt Jen's house on Sunday playing with cousins!
Image The men in my house are a bunch of sissies. I clean out the pumpkins every year because Trevor and Aiden won't touch the "pumpkin guts". This was as close as Aiden would get, and this took some coercing...

Image Ninja Maxwell.
Aka: "Ninjax"

Image Ninja Aiden.
Aka: "Ninjaiden"

Image A very serious ninja.

Image This is one of the few "normal" pictures I was able to get of Max...

Image Most of them looked like this.

Image The ninjas have turned on each other!!!

Image The big group of crazy kids that trick-or-treated together.
*Notice the BYU hat Max is wearing, I told you he always wears it...he freaked out and wouldn't leave the house without it on, so I guess he was a Ninja Cougar...

"Trunk"-or-Treat

Our church had a Halloween party this year, as we do every year. We had a chili cook off, cupcake walk, and "trunk"-or-treating in the parking lot! Such a fun time! The boys were both ninjas, and Trevor and I had to think of something to be that we already had... so, I was the "campus librarian" and Trevor was a college student, complete with backpack and i-pod(he has a lot of practice in this role). Good times, good times...
Image Aiden takes his role as a ninja very seriously. On the other hand, Max won't put his blankie down for the picture... not very intimidating.
Image Cupcakes I made for the cupcake walk.
Cute, eh?

Things that make you go, hmmmm...

In our 7 1/2 years of marriage, Trevor has done many strange things. But this might just take the cake. Trevor has been going to "CrossFit", which is a gym/exercise program, for the past 8 months now. They do crazy ridiculous things like flipping semi tires, Olympic weight lifting, and PULL-UPS till your flesh falls off your hands. After a day of said pull-ups, Trevor was in misery. Every time he touched something or picked something up it hurt his palms. I told him to put some neosporin on them before bed. So, this is what I saw when I came to bed that night...
Image He said he didn't want the medicine to wipe off when he was sleeping. Good grief, I do believe I married a dork. But I love him anyway!

A boy, and his hat.

Maxwell loves his BYU hat. He wears it in the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening, and even during naps! He has even been known to throw a fit until we let him wear it to bed at night.
Image Out like a light, and the hat still firmly in place...

Image Crazy child.

"Poo"

Thursday, September 30, 2010

Max has a new favorite hobby. He likes to find his swimming trunks, bring them to me, sit down and wait for me to put them on him, and then he runs to the front door and says "poo". He loves to go swimming! Today, he changed it up a little. He brought me Aiden's goggles, waited for me to put them on him, ran upstairs to his bathroom, pointed to his swimming trunks, and then said "poo". Crazy child, it's storming outside!
Image He looks like some dorky super-hero wanna-be!

Image This is his "cheese" smile. Scary, I know.

Image This was his face when I told him we couldn't go to the pool.
Image Precious.
I know.

Go Grapes!!

This is Aiden's first year playing soccer. He's been very excited ever since we signed him up months ago. The first practice finally came, after all the impatient waiting. Aiden's coach, Coach Greg, was awesome. He even let the kids pick out their own team name. The boys wanted to be the "purple robots" and the girls wanted to be the "purple grapes"...
Image As you can see, at the first practice, girls outnumbered boys.
Aiden is a mighty purple grape!
Image Cute lookin' grape if you ask me...

Image Aiden did such a great job!
He ran after that ball like it was made of candy!

Image So, Aiden is right-handed. Trevor is left-handed. Trevor kicks with his right foot. Aiden, apparently, kicks with his left foot. I blame Trevor for making my child backwards!

Image Hooray! Aiden scored a goal!!!

Labor Day...yes, I'm aware it's almost October.

As usual, we went to Aunt Jen & Uncle Jason's cul-de-sac this year for Labor Day. Totally fun, as usual! The kids had soo much fun going down the huge water slide...okay, so did the adults!
Image Trevor and Max going down the slide for the first time! Max wasn't the biggest fan, but if you know Trevor and I as parents you won't be surprised that we made him go down anyway!

Image Like I said, not the biggest fan...

Image Aiden, on the other hand, BIG FAN!!

Image Last year, Aiden was a little timid about going down the slide. Maybe it's because the teenagers tipped the thing over, who knows. But this year, he loved it!

Image Max & Zeb found the Barbie Jeep in Jen's garage and sat in it for 20 minutes, just playing. Every once and a while one of them would lift the hood and look inside curiously, wondering why it wasn't moving. Hysterical boys!
