H.'s recent Short Film - Where do Babies Come From? - a short that touches on the emotional effects of abortion

This first picture is in the sound booth doing the voiceover for the animated portion of the short. It is his first soundbooth experience and had a blast...2 hrs. in there.Image

After his voiceover, the director and producer asked him to be in the live portion of the film, too. Here is that shoot a few weeks later.

But as for me and my house...

We just turned down an "episodic HBO" show for H. He looks just like the main character he could've been a son for. But, after researching the show, it is definitely not the kind of show with which we would like to be involved.

It is crazy how the devil tempts you. "It's just 7 lines...most of which is with voice-over." "Most of it is pieced together, he won't see much." "It's a great opportunity for his career."

And then there is the Holy Spirit bringing back memories of the Prophets' voices: "Learn what you should learn. Do what you should do. Be who you should be." "Make sure children are taught what Heavenly Father wants both secular and spiritual." "Look to your mother for a pattern to follow, NOT to society that hasn't an eternal perspective." "What would the Lord Jesus do?" "Seek ye first the kingdom of God." "Choose the good part." "Run as Fast as you can to higher ground...listen to the prophet." and one of my favorites: "NEVER let an earthly circumstance disable you spiritually!"

Well, I wrote back about the opportunity: "That is not a show that we will participate in." Yes, it was grammatically incorrect, but that is all that I could write.

So, as it was told in Joshua 24, "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." There has to be many worthy works out there that our children can work with, something worthy of God's approval. Something that we wouldn't want to shut out of our home. That is the type of movie or TV show for which we'll wait.

Our Budding Actor

Image
On the way to H.'s first acting job. It was snowing. Pretty funny to drive through a snow storm to get there. We got out to get gas and we caught snow flakes on our tongues!

Image
This is when we got to the job. H. was getting out of the car and was pretty excited to be there. I don't know why he brought his money bag, however. :-)

Image
This is in the wardrobe room. H. had 5 clothes changes throughout the day. Two were our outfits and the others were theirs.

Image
H. at the makeup/hairstyling counter. Enough said.

Image
This is H. getting "wired" for the scene on the porch. The cameras were about 30 feet from him, I was just off the shot feeding him his lines that got changed right when we got there. He seemed a little nervous about the lines since he had the other ones perfectly memorized, on his own might I add. It was fun to get to help.

Image
Where he sat for the porch scene, but this was taken during the voice over, so his outfit is different.

Rolling down the hill with his "friend" and his "mom" watching on.

Image
Playing at the desk while the production overseers watched on the screen.

Image
Ice Cream Break with M., his onstage "friend" who he LOVED playing with in real life, too.

Playing at the park with his "friend" and his "mom" for the commercial.

H. and real mom (R.) right after dinner. They put him in that jacket so he wouldn't spill hamburger on his shirt...good thing he's allergic to tomatoes so we didn't need to worry about ketchup spills!

All in all it was a GREAT day! Working with Wild Plum was the best possible way to start in commercials. They were all very polite and encouraging. The director was especially kind and worked well with H. It is probably because he has two boys of his own. Loved this experience and it wouldn't have worked without wonderful friends that could help us with babysitting our I. and A.! Thank you sweet friend D.!!!!

Here is the final outcome:
