What I've been up to

It's true it has been FOREVER since I have blogged. In fact I don't have time to clean house, do laundry, or even watch my beloved tivod shows (sad face). Why you ask? Well ... my sis and I finally made our dream of owning our own sweets shop a reality. It has been a lot of work- blood,sweat, tears ( and I do mean tears because we cried every day the first couple weeks) but we are now 6 weeks into our business adventure and doing great!Sugar Mama's Sweets is amazing and boasts lots of gourmet cupcakes and chocolates. If you haven't come into see us then stop on by. We are located at 1240 E. Main ST. in Mesa on the corner of Stapley/Main inside the POOL building. We are currently open Wed-Sat until the grand opening of POOL. Michelle and I are busy and having a great time!

HOW DO I SWAGBUCKS?

Ok.. now that I posted about Swagbucks let me give you some insider tips so you know how to earn more..
1. make sure you have downloaded the swagbucks toolbar- then utitlize it (instead of your main address bar) to search everything- your hotmail, blogs, bank stantements- whatever. about every 4-5 searches you will earn a buck or two.
2. they give away swagbucks EVERYDAY so sign up for the swagbucks newsletter, and check the little red envelope in your toolbar that says TSG- that's where you can find codes that are emailed to you
3. There are a couple of blogs thatare "faithful" Swagbuck users and they post assistance to help you get a code EVERYDAY - so check out http//www.engineeradebtfreelife.com/ and here http://blog.swagbucks.com/ usually between 3-5pm AZ time is when they will post codes *** remember that a lot of codes are time sensitive
4. One of the fastest ways to get more bucks is by asking friends/family to join- for every buck they earn so will you. just go to the swagbucks main page and click on promote- I would then grab a swidget and post it on your blog, facebook, send out an email- you can REALLY rack up points just by having referrals
5. Every 10 days or so they reset the "offers" on the home page of Swagbucks. All you have to do is go thru the offers, skip them all, and at the end you will be given a code .... so there is another swagbuck to earn

You can easily earn 3-5 swagbucks a day just by doing searches and checking the 2 blogs. So, for no effort let's say that you do only that- in 1 year you could earn a $150 gift card to Target, or Amazon, or many others . Put forth effort and the possibilitties are endless.
We are a 1 income family now- haven't been that for 20 years so I am loving all the couponing and saving money$$$. My goal is to pay for most of Christmas 2010 for what I earn on Swagbucks- I know it can be done!

SWAGBUCKS- IT ROCKS!

I know it has been a LONG time since I have posted... but it is the New Year and I definately have recommited to keeping up my blog. I have lots to update you on but that will come later. I just had to drop a message and tell you about Swagbucks. It is seriously like the coolest program ever! It is just a search engine ( actually owned by google) all you have to do is use it as your search engine and they reward you by giving you points ( aka as Swagbucks) for which you can then trade in for FREE gifts like gift cards and other cool prizes. It doesn't cost you a thing! My goal for the year is to basically pay for our Christmas next year all thru Swagbucks. WE ARE HORRIBLE PEOPLE....

It's true- there are just times when we can't help it but we just are not good neighbors- yesterday was one of those days. We have a gal in our neighborhood who is mentally challenged and is probably about 40ys old. Every day at some point she knocks on our door, rings the doorbell, looks in the windows until I answer the door. All she wants is for me to pray with her- she is sweet and sincere but this happens EVERY day. If she has missed me during the day then she will leave me notes on my garage door that say " please pray for ..... "
Yesterday, it's Sunday we are all home- lying around after church and what happens? the doorbell rings. Now, on Sunday you never know who it could be- people unexpectdly pop by so one of the boys jumps up to get the door quickly to discover that it is our cute neighbor but instead of answering the door he takes a dive down the hallway and yells " no way am I answering the door!" "Oh great" is my comment-
Todd starts telling everyone to be quiet and pretend we aren't home- " really?" is my comment-" I do this every day I think you can do it today" " Nope" he says- just can't do it. Nice one- so there you have it- if you see our cars in the drive way and you knock or ring the bell and we just don't answer I guess your turn was up- we're inside pretending we're not home.

DID I SIGN UP FOR THIS?

You know there are just times in your life as a parent where you think "hmm... did I sign up for this? Well... thanks to the Wrights yesterday was one of those days. They so gladly bestowed one of their beloved hamsters on us which Griffin was just sure he could not live without. Now thank heavens it is not an animal that takes a lot of work because we all know those are not MY kinds of animals. However, as you can see from the photos Griffin is giving Snowball ( yes that is the hamsters name) much love and attention. In the few short hours we had him yesterday Griffin played with him incessently, took him on 2 car rides- 1 in his cage and 1 in his roller ball, put him in his trucks and rode him around, went to his cousins to show him off and ended up putting him in the doll house to run around, and put him in his ball to run around our house. If poor Snowball survives it will be a miracle- he might die just from sheer exhaustion!

ONE GOOFY GUY

So, I have been getting mercilessly harassed by you all to update the blog.I mean even my 4 and 7 year old nieces are complaining so this must be bad! This is a short entry- just a funny little thought and I promise more in just a couple of days ( I sware!) I love Will Ferrell- Todd and I are HUGE fans.I think mainly because Will Ferrell actually reminds me of Todd. Now if you have never thought of this then right at this moment I am sure you are having an a- ha moment and saying "yep, Wendi is definately right on that one." I am sure you can recall him doing his famous bird call, telling a crazy story, or just plain making you laugh so hard you cry (which believe me I have done MANY times) So... every time the trailer comes on for WF latest movie Land of the Lost I start laughing and think of my silly, goofy, but ever so lovable hubby! As my sis Michelle said the other day when the trailer came on " it's like watching Todd in action." Yes, and with that I shall concur!

Aren't I too old for this?

Seriously! Do you ever feel like what the heck? Here I am 41 years old ( although I do not like to admit my age) and I have the worlds largest zit on my chin. I don't think that this photo can even give the zit justice because when I run my finger across my chin it feels like a mountain. Aren't I too old for this nonsense?
