9 months on the 9th

Yup, it's true. Logan is officially 9 months old!

9 month stats:
Height: 28 3/4 inches (67th percentile)
Weight: 19 lbs 7 oz (31st percentile)
Head Circumference: 17 1/4 inches (12th percentile)

He's still a tiny headed baby with not a lot of hair (it is growing though!) but oh how he has changed (in a good way)! His personality is really starting to show and boy is he stubborn (not sure who he gets that from.....). He loves having things his way and pouts whenever he can't get it. Basically he already knows how to work the system. Besides his stubbornness, lack of understanding of the word no, refusal to be dressed and need to only eat what we are eating; he is the funniest, cutest and most loving little boy I know. He loves to give hugs and kisses, which most often leave me covered in slobber and most recently teeth marks. Not such a fan of his new biting stage, good thing it's only every now and then. Baby teeth are sharp! ...(he has 4 teeth now).He loves playing with balls, wrestling his teddy bears and making as much noise as possible. He walks all around the house pushing his little walker toy (not really sure what to call it). He waves and says hi mostly to Tyson and I, his toys and his shadow but occasionally to other people. He can clap and most recently started doing "sooo big." He makes funny growling noises when he gets excited. He can feed himself finger foods and drink from a sippy cup. He loves bath time and still has an odd attraction to the bathroom. He has also learned how to shred toilet paper. Not so cute. So far the Christmas tree has been safe from his wrath, but we'll see about my moms. He is a true boy and shows it everyday. Basically, he's amazing. The doctor even said he was advanced for his age. Yeah I'll admit it, I said a little boo-yah in my head. Honestly, you can't tell me you don't have amazingly high hope for your child. His smiles and laughs are the light of our lives, he amazes us with all the new things he learns each day and that's probably more than you wanted to know about our baby :). We love our crazy little baby so much!

I am Thankful

I've been seeing all these posts on fb about what everyone is thankful for and seeing how I have been a little ungrateful lately I thought I would write about what I am thankful for to get me out of my little pity party. :)

1. Logan-he is the best thing that ever happened to me. He makes life worth it.
2. Tyson-he works so hard for us, loves me and all my craziness and today he basically bought me a new wardrobe.
3. My parents-word can't even describe how awesome they are.
4. My in-laws- they are wonderful and are always willing to help.
5. My apartment-so happy to have a place to keep me warm and dry.
6-Vehicles- I wouldn't be able to do most of the things I do without them.
7-A washer and dryer- many times on my way to work I see people carrying loads of laundry into the laundromat. I am so lucky.
8&9- My job-even though I would rather be home with Logan I am grateful for a job that allows us to provide for ourselves. I am also thankful for the knowledge my job provides for me and my family.
10-Good health- Everyday I work with sick kids. I am so grateful that Tyson and I are healthy and especially Logan.
11-Logan's smiles and unconditional love- nothing better.
12-My sisters- only a phone call, text or facetime away :) They always make me laugh
13-My little bro- The best brother I could ask for, currently working hard serving the Lord and always knows how to uplift me with his emails. I can't wait for him and Logan to meet. I know they will be best buds.
14-Tyson's family- they have helped so much with Logan and are always willing to babysit him
15- Good friends, especially Michelle and Jenny-always there when I need them.
16-Food- I love to eat!
17-My religion- I'm thankful for the knowledge and help it provides me. I know I am never alone.

Pity party=over.

8 Months

Logan is 8 months and I'm torn. I love seeing him learn new things, but I am missing my snuggly little baby who wanted nothing more than to sleep in my arms. Logan is everywhere and into everything. He started crawling somewhere around 7 months and seriously the next day was pulling himself up on the furniture and is now walking along the furniture. He's pretty amazing, but there are some draw backs. His favorite place to explore is the bathroom, mainly the toilet, so gross. Today he learned how to unroll the roll of toilet paper. Amazingly, I was the one who just laughed and said every baby does it, while Tyson was scolding Logan (not really scolding because Logan always just smiles and looks cute no matter what we say). I feel like it's a trademark of babies to someday unroll the roll of tp and I was a little proud of Logan. What's not so cool about Logan's ability to move is his ability to find anything on the floor and put it in his mouth, his ability to open the oven door (he's freakishly strong), his ability to find every picture frame or home decor item and throw it on the floor, unplug anything plugged into the wall, and basically his ability to dismantle an entire room in a matter of minutes. Good thing he's so lovable.

Logan eats and sleeps like a champ except for last week when he slept like a monster ( in case you are wondering monsters rarely sleep and when they do sleep they wake at random hours of the night yelling and then wanting to play). He is so happy most of the time. I swear his face is similar to this 90% of the time

He loves to talk and blow raspberries, has a weird fascination with buttons, hates getting dressed and has to be aware of everything going on. He is so funny and gets cuter every day. We love our little LT!

That's right, he was Elmer Fudd. My cousin made his hat. Isn't she awesome? Tyson and I were going to dress up as his wascally wabbits, but it didn't work out. I saw all the cute pictures of my friends all dressed up with their kiddos and I was sad. Parenting fail number... oh wait I've already lost count.

Just Because

Sometimes I feel like my 7 month old is already experiencing the terrible twos. Lately he has been refusing to go down for a nap or bed without a scream fest, which usually results in one of us rocking him to sleep. He also has various other tantrums throughout the day when he doesn't get what he wants.   The other day, when Logan had rolled himself (he's very mobile lately and so close to crawling) to the DVD stand and proceeded to take out DVDs and eat them, I told him "no." He just looked at me, smiled and continued gnawing away. I realized he doesn't know what the word no means. Uh-oh. Looks like we have quite the adventure in store when this rocking turns in to crawling. I guess that's what happens when you have a cute baby with a smile you can't resist. So here are some cute photos and videos just because and to remind me that he is still cute even if he screams a little. :)

Vala's Pumpkin Patch

Today we took a trip to Vala's Pumpkin Patch. We have been wanting to go since last year and we finally made it. It is definitely something that we will make a tradition each fall minus the NE wind. Vala's is pretty much a theme park/pumpkin patch. They have a haunted house, a mine, hayrides, cornmazes, animals, and soo much more. At first Logan didn't know what to think, but then he enjoyed it. At least that's what I got from him kicking his legs, talking up a storm and the lack of a tantrum.

Who has a camel at a pumpkin patch? After we took this picture we noticed a sign saying "please do not hold children up to camel." Oops

Crazy, Beautiful Life

Life around here has been crazy lately and I have often found myself wishing that things were different. Being a full-time working mom is hard. I feel like there are so many things to do and so little time to do it. I want to spend all my spare time with Logan yet there are so many other things that have to get done. Today wasn't much different. I woke up already stressing about everything that needed to be done while I had the day off and I was easily frustrated with Logan. While he was napping I read a friend's blog and she made reference to the song "It Won't be Like This for Long" by Dairus Rucker. While reading her blog I thought about the pictures I had found last night of Logan in the hospital, which then reminded me how much he has changed and how fast. The combination of that song and those pictures made me realize that all the other things in life aren't as important as my family. Thank you Jessica for helping me realize my life is crazy, but beautiful (also another great country song).

6 months old

Due to my lack of blogging here is a quick recap of the summer: I was able to go out to ID for 3 weeks for my best friends wedding, Tyson's family reunion and to spend time with my friends and family. We had so much fun and can't wait to go back and visit. The rest of the summer was spent working and doing all sorts of mommy tasks and hanging with the baby.

Now for a current update:
Logan is almost 7 months old. At his last appointment he was 17 pounds, 26 1/4 in long and his head has moved up to the 8th percentile :) He loves to eat everything but peas (just like his mama). He rolls wherever he wants to and is attempting to starting crawling but mainly he gets frustrated at his lack of ability, which uusually ends in a cry fest. Yesterday I put him on his stomach and walked across the room and told me to "come here," he rolled his way right over to me and then held up his arms to be picked up. Melted my heart right there. He has been able to sit up on his own for a while now and he is learning how to put himself into the sitting position. He loves to talk, play with his toys and his piano, and be the center of attention. He like to explore and grab anything he sees (makes me nervous when he can actually get things himself). Right now he is getting his two bottom teeth. Last week he had an ear infection while teething, which caused him to be the spawn of satan. Luckily he is over it now and back to his wonderful happy self. He is the best thing to ever happen to us!
Tyson and I are working our tails off. This is the last weekend the sno shack will be open for the season. It has done well and I am sad I won't get to eat a sno cone everyday, but I am happy to have my husband back. Oh and I have finally reached my goal of trying every flavor :). Once the sno shack is closed Tyson will be working on school and working for his dad's business. I started working for Children's Hospital in August doing private duty nursing. I never thought I would be a pediatric nurse, but I finally have found a nursing job that I love.
I am currently working on Logan's Halloween costume. Halloween is so much more fun when you have a baby to dress up! I can't wait for Halloween!
