Hi my name is Charlene and I am a differently able’d mum of 3. I don’t let this stop me being the best mum I am capable of being or let it stop me living my life to the fullest.

I don’t like labeling people or the word disabled because I am a wheelchair user. As to disable something means to stop it, and like I said the wheelchair does not stop me from achieving my dreams and goals.

I see my self as differently able’d because I still do things but in my own way and time. I enjoy horse riding at stannington at weekends with my daughter, travelling , spending time with friends, reading, done a bit of modelling, and also recently had an interview with a magazine.

That will be released July, I think!!! The magazine is focused at female wheelchair users aged 18-30. I hope my story of learning to adapt and come to terms with my condition will inspire others to follow their dreams. And to not give up, and to stay active maybe even have a better experience as a wheelchair user.

I believe everything happens for a reason, I believe the reason I have this condition and I just went through a hard time. Is because I am supposed to help others in my situation.

Want to know more read my blogs….

You can also catch my blog about my condition known as Charcot Marie tooth disease. And read about how I manage day to day and with being a mum blog is called cmt mummy pls take a look

  1. Hi I have just looked up your CMT I found it very interesting and I have to say it is a condition I have never heard of before. There are so many different movement disorders and very little awareness, I hope you have a good day 🙂

  2. Hello! Im also a wheelchair user and have been since i was 8. I know how hard it is, and i’d agree with you, being in a wheelchair does not stop you from achieving your dreams and goals. though other people make that really hard for you to do, but you just have to keep fighting and not give up! 🙂
