Today I joined Gaynors' Stitch-a-long! I'm excited! I've never been part of anything like this before so I'm a complete novice! This is the kit I'm doing ........
Its in memory of my Nan who died in April 2008. This scene reminds me of visiting Portland Bill lighthouse when we stayed with Nan during the Easter holidays every year! And I'll be keeping it myself once completed :-)
Today I received 3 kits through the post, from Gaynor, my prizes in a free draw she did just before Christmas! I'm thrilled to bits with them all!!
Here are the 3 kits, along with my new lighthouse kit again, I only had that delivered yesterday too :-)
I'm all set for a stitchy 2009!!

Boo hiss!!! Back to work tomorrow! Bleurgh!! OK, its' only for 1 day, but still!
We have had one of the best Christmastimes and I just don't want it to end! As you all probably know by now, we don't have much money, BUT, we had a wonderful family Christmas within our means, and because we didn't have reams and reams of presents, what we DID receive were so much more appreciated, so all the more special for it :-)
Ryan got a Wii for Christmas, Which is fntastic fun, and sooo addictive! It had Wii sport free with it and he also got some other games as gifts from family. Now if any of you out there also got a Wii in your household this Christmas, then I'm sure you'll know what I mean when I say Frank and I have serious cases of "Wii-arm" !!
True to form the boys are much better than me at everything, but then again they get more practice!
Chritmas day we enjoyed a traditional Christmas dinner, well if you swap a chicken for the turkey! Then my Mum and Dad and Bro-in-law came round Christmas evening to experience Wii-arm for themselves :-)
Boxing day was fab, just the 3 of us, didn't even bother to unlock the front door! Having fun with all Ryans new toys, Frank spent 5, yes 5! hours Putting together a "K-nex" rollercoaster! I was hiding in the kitchen!
Saturday 27th was simply brilliant! We went round to Mum and Dads, My Brother Mark, his wife Charlie and my Nieces Leah and Chloe were up for 2 days so it was fantastic to spend the day with them!Frank doesn't usually go, but came this year and just had the best time. Everyone agreed it was a wonderful day and we can't wait to all meet up again!
Today I've had a little sewing time, but mostly have cleaned, washed everything in the laundry basket and tried to find homes for all the new toys and my lovely new smellies!
Hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and we wish you and your families all the very best for the New Year ahead.
Its' been such a pleasure making friends with you all during 2008, and long may these wonderful bloggy friendships continue during 2009!

Today, after work, I took Ryan to our Millenium Green, just a little green patch by our house really, sounds far more impressive than it actually is!
He loves to practise his golf techniques! We hope to be getting him some proper Junior Clubs in the January sales as he's loving Golf at the moment :-)
Blew some cobwebs off him, as he was going stir crazy in the house! As usual it started to rain though, which put an end to us re-enacting the British Open!
Have very little progress with AOY, just not getting time to sit down and concentrate properly.
Also, Following some colourful name calling we overheard today, I had to explain to my 7 year old BABY what being Gay means.
Sometimes I'm astonished at how different the world is from when I was 7 years old!

This is how my baby falls sleep when Mummy isn't looking!! I only popped out to make a cup of coffee and this is how he was! Fast asleep!Innovative use of a table and armchair!
And finally after my hold up with the busted lamp, we have progress again! New lamp and I'm able to stitch a litle :-)
With Ryan being SOOOOOOOO hyperactive at the moment I'm barely getting time to stitch or do anything else! Wish the weather was better so that we co
uld at least visit the park, Rain non stop! Typcal!

Yesterday I got a text message from Ryans' school to inform us that he had been awarded "Student of the term"!!
When I saw this certificate I cried like a baby! And so did my Mum when she saw it!
If its' not clear from the photograph, this is why Ryan was awarded it:
"He has a lovely attitude to those around him,he is a bright spark who always puts every effort into producing the best work he possibly can.He always brings his homework on time!We are really proud to have him as a member of our team! He is a lovely boy to teach - always keen to do jobs to help out. WHAT A BELTER !!!!"

Well Ryan had a great time yesterday at his Beavers party! He met a boy there that he went to nursery with and was chatting with him, I'm so proud that he made the first move and went up to talk to this guy, I'm always a little worried that he'll be a little shy being an only child, but his confidence has come on leaps and bounds lately :-) He had a great time at the party and came home with a selection box present !
Today he had a party in school, he had a fun time dancing and playing musical chairs and even won a prize! Brought home some pencils, sweets and a football pad, he was chuffed to bits!
My "Date" with Jackie unfortunatly fell through for a number of reasons, we'll set another date in January to meet up instead, I had a nice afternoon shopping and having coffee with Mum, and then finished the last of my Christmas cards and did a little stitching on my AOY. I'm determined to finish her hat tonight!!

![]() For you, the holidays represent a time of calm, understanding, and peace. You avoid family fights, and you don't get too stressed out - even when things are crazy! You like to make Christmas about making everyone's life a little bit better. You don't get caught up in greed or commercialism. You're too sincere for that. Your blue tree would look great with: Lots of silver tinsel You should spend Christmas Eve watching: It's a Wonderful Life What you should bake for Santa: Chocolate chip cookies |

OK so I copied this from Wikipedia! I can't quite explain one myself, so here goes!
....
A crumpet is a savoury/sweet bread snack made from flour and yeast. It is eaten mainly in the United Kingdom, but also in the nations of the Commonwealth.
Crumpets are generally circular though rectangular varieties also exist. They have a distinctive flat top covered in small pores and a resilient, slightly spongy texture, being very porous. Crumpets alone are bland and generally eaten hot with a topping (usually butter). Other popular accompaniments include cheese when melted on top of the crumpet, poached egg, jam, Marmite, marmalade, honey, peanut butter, cheese spread, golden syrup, lemon curd, and maple syrup.
....
April - You commented on me going to post my letters, How do you send yours? I'm actually not sure how ya'll do it over there, we buy stamps so the postage is pre paid, then post them in letterboxes that are dotted everywhere.
The letterboxes get emptied once or twice a day and the letters are all taken to a sorting office to be sorted for National or International delivery.
This postbox is in the Albert dock, here in Liverpool.

One of my favourite things in the afternoon, if I have time ( Which is rare, But Ryan has gone to Mums this afternoon) is to snuggle with a good book (ie. Eclipse in this case), with the fire lit, and some steaming hot tea and buttered crumpets. Bliss!
