It was a day in the life we visited Paul McCartney Photographs 1963-64: Eyes of the Storm. This collection of photos he made at the beginning of their popularity with the simple camera Pentax. The set of candid photos is awesome and unique. These photos depict them not as pop idols, but as ordinary people in their everyday lives, preparing for concerts and studio recordings. The people who surrounded them and made up a large part of their lives are also featured.

The beauty of white winter is melting under the February Sun. At daytime it cries and the tears drop down on the frozen earth. However the night frost tries to slow down upcoming Spring. And the frozen tears on the winter face turn into the icicles.
Snow – a lot of snow, frost (-19°C or -2.2°F), sun and silence. Morning in the Park at this time is quiet and empty. Couple people with dogs. Some families with children. The only sound is the crack of frosty snow. Wonderful!
It was time when Riga was my most visited city. At that time, we did not have opportunities to travel abroad. The most attractive and closest places to visit were Baltic countries’ cities: Riga, Vilnius, Tallinn, and other smaller ones. Riga was the biggest city and had a lot of places to see. Another reason to visit was the Jūrmala Beach. It is Latvia’s famous and extensive stretch of white quartz sand on the Baltic Sea.
Forty years passed since then. It was a huge wish to visit it again. In these past forty years I visited a lot of different countries and cities. I wanted to find out if the feeling of Riga was still the same. There are a lot of changes there. Some of them are good, but some I did not like. However, this visit recall my young age and time I spent there with parents, myself, and my wife and children.

The legend of Riga appearance is like a fairy tale. Actually, all legends are fairy tales.
The Old Town is beautiful and attractive for tourists. There are not to many of them in November and it is the good opportunity to meet more local people. Strolling along the medieval streets, I remembered the lines from a song: Somewhere in the narrow streets of Riga I hear the steps of past centuries.
Riga Dome Cathedral is the most remarkable place and famous for its organ concerts. That evening we had an opportunity to listen beautiful music of Bach, Antonio Bertali, Camille Saint-Saëns. It was apparently the most memorable moment of the last visit. However, the cathedral’s interior requires major renovations.

Probably November and the weather made a little frustration of the trip. The first evening was sunny and bright. However, the next day, the weather was gloomy, and the drizzle influenced our mood.
Never the less, we had seen the bright future for this country in their care of children. This is the future.
Latvia is one of the small Baltic country laying on the east shore of Baltic Sea. Its history as dramatic as the other neighbors is. Most of her existence it was under someone’s control. The first time Latvia got the independence happened in 1918. However it not lasts for a long time. Finally in 1991 Latvia became independent again. Hopefully, it is forever…? Nowadays Latvia is trying to survive in the very dramatic and unstable situation around its border. The Statue of Liberty is a symbol of the thirst for freedom.
Kaunas is the second biggest Lithuanian city. Unlike the capital Vilnius city it is smaller and less busy one. Here you feel flow of life. There is no rush and bustle. Everything is going smooth and quiet. Nevertheless there are a lot of things to see, try local cuisine, visit churches and museums. November is not really a colorful and bright time to see the city in all its beauty. However, it is a time to avoid crowds of tourists.
Every winter we have these beautiful creatures here in LaSalle Park, Burlington. They come here to survive the winter. It looks like winter in their habitual habitat even more harsh than here. That is real joy to watch them and listen to their trumpet music.
Grey January day at Niagara Falls was quiet after New Year celebrations. There were no colours around just grey icy wonderland. It looked like a black and white environment, but anyway there is some beauty in that.
