One year later...

well, it's been exactly a year since i've written on here! there's been alot of change=) here are some highlights of the past year:
-jason started a new job in march as a pension analyst
-henzley started preschool @ a great school
-we went on vacation to washington state in august, and came back...
-PREGNANT WITH TWINS!!
-i had to leave my job due to sickness and restrictions set by my OB
-henzley got to stay home with mommy starting in october
-found out the twins are a GIRL and a BOY!
-celebrated out TENTH anniversary on the 13th(dinner, mall-wheelchair for me! dessert, home)

we are very excited about the coming arrival of our babies. especially big sis henzley. we all love to feel the babies move around and kick. btw, their names will be: jensen pearce, and karlyn lee.
everything else is going well. we are trying to adjust to one paycheck, but staying optimistic=) henzley is still a sweet and smart girl. she will be starting kindergarten this year, which she is so excited for. we are all preparing for the babies in our own ways=) well, that's it for now!

lots of change

i haven't been on here in a very long time! Jason got laid off, and we moved into an apartment...right before thanksgiving. it was pretty depressing. we are doing great right now. i think we are settling into this frugal mode pretty well.
right now, i have a bad sinus infection. Henzley had the same virus that turned into pneumonia, they think. her symptoms and chest sounds pointed right to it. she is on antibiotics, and steroids as well as aggressive breathing treatments on the nebulizer(asthma). ugh. it's a bad virus.
Jason hasn't been too bad with it.
we celebrated our 9th anniversary on the 13th. we did nothing:( b/c of our nice colds. it's so crazy how time flies. we have such great memories.
we have had a couple of leads for jobs, but nothing too hopeful yet.

on the mend

i've been sick for over a week! henzley is also sick and jason is starting to get there. at first, i really thought i had swine flu. especially since i've been around patients that have it. but, thankfully it's just a really bad head cold. henzley's asthma was really bad, and we had to get refills on all her meds. she also has an ear infection on top of everything. it all cost a whopping $279! i couldn't believe it. but, what are ya gonna do? she is doing so much better. thank goodness for medicine. i think i may need some antibiotics soon.
i'm really excited for halloween, i just love this time of year. henzley has been going back and forth between what she wants to be. duck or cinderella? she is so funny. jason is studying for exam 3, he is such a trooper:)
we also found out that we will need to move out b/c our landlady needs to sell the house. we'd love to buy it, but just can't right now. we'll probably be in an apartment by january, ugh. i absolutely loathe moving! and we'll have to get a storage unit b/c we have so much crap. but, on the bright side we'll be saving alot of money. that's it for now:)

long time gone

wow. it's been awhile since i've posted! i've been worn out from working full time. i'm thankful to have a job, but it's been exhausting! i really like my profession (xray technologist) and i'm getting used to doing procedures i haven't seen since i was a student. my coworkers are mostly guys, so that was kinda hard to get used to. but, they're like brothers to me now..i often roll my eyes! henzley has been doing really well at preschool, though i miss her like crazy. she is learning chinese(mandarin) and spanish. she sings songs for us in both languages and counts, too. it's so much fun to see what she's learning. her teachers are having a hard time getting her to take naps. i think it's b/c the room needs to be darker. jason is also doing well with his new job. we are trying to buckle down and pay off our debts. we are sending off a check on monday to pay off our car! we are really excited and hope that we can get a new car for jason soon. his car needs so much work, it really wouldn't be worth it though. we hope to get a small car like a toyota or ford. oh and i got some new shoes for work. i'm really excited b/c they are awesome shoes-merrell's-and they were only $35! alot of medical workers wear these shoes, including surgeons, b/c they are super comfortable. alrighty, hopefully it doesn't take me so long to update next time!

healthy now!

i started work on 4/6 and caught a horrible virus! it was probably the flu b/c i had body aches, fever and just felt terrible. jase caught it and then henz. she developed and ear infection immediately and jase and i had upper resp. infections w/ bronchitis. at first, i was determined not to go to the doctor and get antibiotics. i wanted to see if i could get over all the gunk on my own. i wanted to not 'overuse antibiotics' b/c you hear it everywhere. i finally decided to go after i developed another fever. then jase and henz went the next day. we're all three on antibiotics now. and we're feeling much better, after 2 1/2 weeks of feeling crappy!

my sis and her hubby came w/ the kids last weekend. we had such a good time. here are some pics.

easter and after

easter was okay. henz was sick and i was trying to relax from my first week of work. i was stressed out and not in the mood to dye easter eggs! we did hunt for eggs after church and it was a pretty day. that night we went to watch jase sing in a two stake choir performance of the messiah. it was a great performance, they did such a wonderful job, it did not sound like a church choir! anyway i loved it. the whole time i had to wrestle with henz b/c she wasn't as entertained as i was:)
the next day at work, i had to get a DTap vaccination b/c i work in a high risk area. i do okay with the MMR, but the DTaP kills me! i was sore the whole week! and i also caught the horrible head cold that henz had. jase caught it too. body aches, low fever, runny nose...and now we both have a terrible cough. yuck. so, we didn't go to church today. too bad for henz, she felt fine!

so, i really like my new job. especially getting the paycheck! i get paid really well:) thank goodness b/c i bust my butt!

by the way, i got contacts, but they were too dry. i have moderately dry eyes..the doc ordered some new ones...we'll see how they work!

training

so, i started work on monday. it has been tiring, stressful, overwhelming, heartwrenching, educational...blah,blah,blah. i'm actually catching on pretty quickly, b/c i've worked on the same equipment they have. the worst part is finding my way around. all the hallways look the same, and it took me awhile to figure out where the bathroom and breakroom were. i hate being lost. really hate it. but i did quite a bit of exams by myself today. i actually had a patient nominate me for 'star recognition'. which means i'll get a little star pin for my badge. some people have them pinned all over their badge holders. it felt nice to be recognized for being nice!
the most absolute, worse part about having to work is making my little girl go to preschool all day. here is how our week has gone so far:
monday: "bye mommy!" with a big smile on her face.
tuesday: "i'm not going to school today mommy..." with some apprehension on her face.
wednesday: "AHHHH!!!! I WANT TO STAY AT MY HOUSE!!! I'M NOT GOING TO SCHOOL!" face red, tears smeared all over her face, kicking, screaming, refusing to get in the car....as i try not to cry myself.
thursday: "i don't wanna go to school mommy" with the saddest face ever. tears welling up, lip out. i gave her a popsicle...don't judge me..
tomorrow preschool is closed for good friday so henz is going to stay at my friends house who lives down the street. henz and my friends son LOVE each other, so she is so excited to go there tomorrow and i hope there won't be any tears.
jase feels a little anxious about her going to preschool too, but he doesn't drop her off in the morning b/c he has to leave earlier to catch the train. it is absolute torture to have to leave my child with a stranger. i never thought it would be this hard. she has a great time and the school is great(she gets to learn spanish and chinese, and they even teach tae kwon do, not that i care she learn that, but she may have fun), she'll get used to it and we will too:)

a new era

well, i start my new job on monday and my little girl will go to daycare. i tried everything in my power to NOT ever send my child to daycare, but it has to be done. she is so excited and i'm mostly okay, but kinda sad. i enjoy cuddling on the couch when we wake up. i love sharing our breakfasts. i like having "lazy days" where we stay in our jammas all day. somedays, we live at the playground. and there are those days where we run errands everywhere and we both crash for nap time. i LOVE naptime. i won't get naptime at the hospital. ugh. i don't want to be a working mom.
i will only be full time for the 1st two weeks for training, and after that it will be "on call". so, it won't be so bad, but henz will still be going to daycare a few days a week b/c it's more of a preschool for kids her age.
i know she is ready and i'm glad this is happening when she's 3 and not 3 mths old. it would be alot worse. i know she will really enjoy it, i'll just miss her:(

a little girl

three years ago today, i was HUGE. i was having contractions constantly and VERY uncomfortable. my feet were so swollen that when i walked, the tops of my feet would jiggle. on april 2nd at 2:35 pm, my sweet baby girl was born.

my life changed forever. she has been such a joy to me. she makes me smile everyday and she has a heart of gold. jase and i love to spoil her with hugs and kisses.

she is turning 3 this week and i'm so proud of her. she is so smart and loves to learn. i can't wait to watch her grow up and be a part of all her accomplishments.
