Hmm, new pics of Takara Tomy's Missing Link Ultra Magnus? *checks watch* Yeah... yeah, I can deal with that now. "Open, dammit! Why won't you -- oh, because you've been cast in only one piece. Well played, Primus. Well played..." Look, and despair! At all the things you either didn't know you could do or just didn't have the stuff to do it when you were but a mere a child! Convoy: "Ultra Magnus! Are you okay? You look like you've seen a ghost!" Magnus: "Oh, man... what in Alpha Trion's name did we do last night?!" Alpha Trion: *offscreen* "You leave me out of your chicanery!" Convoy: "Ultra Magnus! Are you okay? You look like you've seen a ghost!" Magnus: "Haha. It gets funnier every time you say it, sir. Sigh..." "No, really, you have no idea how good it feels to be able to do this after 40 years. It's like a new lease on life." "Don't talk to me or my son ever again!" "Very good, sir." "We take symmetry seriously around these parts, soldier!" "Turn around and think warm thoughts, Destron!" "Go-go Gadget Fist!" "Convoy may have the Matrix, but I have the equivalent of two Rollers! That's double the responsibility!" Convoy: "Don't talk to me or my son or my son's son ever again!" Magnus: *thinking* "Maybe if I sneeze when I squeeze the trigger, it'll look like an accident..." "Sigh... I hope they get the runway at the Cybertron airport fixed soon." "Incredible! It's like looking in a mirrors!" "Yeah, you just keep telling yourself that, gramps." Incidentally, I'm not reproducing the entire gallery in this post -- just the ones I can add (not) funny captions to. Be sure to check out the whole enchilada here! Feel free to talk about this episode here, or the series as a whole over in the "Takara Missing Link G1 Series" thread in our forums! Transformers: Cyberworld is back with a new episode! In "Oh Crate, This Again," a new crate drop has appeared, and Team Optimus is out to get it, since the boost device they have is too dangerous. Unfortunately, they're not the only ones interested in whatever lies within the box... Or, if you'd rather read the description from YouTube: Check it out, yo: Plus more game scenes after, if that's your jam. And here's my recap and thoughts (spoilers, of course): Feel free to talk about this episode here, or the series as a whole over in the "Transformers CyberWorld: You Know The Song!" thread in our forums! Blokees keeps on, er, trucking with their next wave of "Wheels" assemble-it-yourself vehicle mode kits. This second wave, called "Wreck and Rule", continues to heavily feature vehicle modes from the "More Than Meets the Eye" era of IDW's Transformers comics. True to its name, the wave features classic Wreckers like Springer, Ironfist/Fisitron, Roadbuster, and Scoop, alongside some interesting additions to the line like Cosmos, Huffer, Pipes, Shattered Glass Sideswipe, and a measly three Decepticons in altmode. But while it may just be one Stunticon (Breakdown) and one Battlecharger (Runamuck), that third Decepticon is OVERLORD... jet and tank altmode, and all. In a very Blokees move, theyv'e even gone and added some innovations to this wave, as ome of the new additions even have movable parts in altmode, making for some interes-- Wait. Did we just say this MTMTE-based wave has Pipes... AND Overlord? Oh! Well, that explains this... additional gimmick that Pipes has, then. ...Oh dear. so does this mean they're making an Overlord #RIPpipesneverforget Allspark Forums Discord Server Twitter/X Facebook Page Bluesky Instagram
We return with our Left in Japan series with more G1 Transformers games that never made it out of Japan. Since we last left off in the 1980s with Nintendo games that never arrived on our shore, Transformers fans actually had 2 major releases for Transformers games in the 1990s. The first was an open world Beast Wars game where you play as either Maximal or Predacon with Season 1 characters. The second game we got was a 2d fighting game called Beast Wars: Transmetals for both the PlayStation and Nintendo 64. However, it would be several years later before we would get the next Transformers video game, 2004's Transformers. This game, released on the PlayStation 2 to much fan praise, featured, not the G1 cast, but the Armada characters. The year before, Japan got not one, but two G1 Transformers games! Transformers: Call of the Future Transformers: Call of the Future, was released in Japan on the PlayStation 2 on October 30th, 2003, published by Atlus. It is a 3D brawler, where you pick your faction, Autobot or Decepticon, and lead a team of three, punching, kicking, and blasting your way through enemy bots. At the end of each level, you get to have a boss fight, these are usually the more popular bots like Sondwave in level one, or even combiners later on like the ultimate combiner Predaking! The basic story premise is that in 2010, Shockwave would fuse himself with an alien artifact and destroy Cybertron. However, the survivors of that battle have come back in time to the year 2003 to stop him from ever retrieving the artifact. I won't drop any spoilers here, but the story itself isn't that bad and the CGI intro is pretty great for 2003. Also, if you play as the Decepticons, then you transform Megatron into his G1 gun mode! Check out the long play for the game below: If this game had come out in 2003 in the US, I think that it would have been well received by the fandom. I think people today would still be debating on which game was better this or the Armada game? Sadly, this has never been released stateside, despite the game being completely in English. DreamMix TV World Fighters Released by Hudson on December 13, 2003 for the PlayStation 2 and Gamecube, this game, isn't a purely Transformers game, but it does heavily feature G1 Optimus Prime and Megatron. This game is a Smash Bros style game, where you can play as an assortment of characters from Konami, Hudson, and Takara's intellectual properties. Other notable characters you can play as, besides the transformers, as Simon Belmont, Solid Snake, and Bomberman. There is a solo campaign, where you fight other characters to boost the ratings. Depending on your performance, you will get rated after the campaign is done. Playing the campaign with different characters unlocks new stages and characters. There is also a four person melee style mode like Smash Bros, as well as two other interesting game modes. However, what we want to discuss is the Transformers! You can play as Optimus Prime or Megatron, and there is even a cool G2 colored Devastator Level. Ultimately, this game is fun Smash Bros clone, and we get some interesting characters and stages. Check out the gameplay below: I wish that we could have got this game for the Gamecube or PlayStation 2 in the US, as it looks to be a real fun game with some of our favorite characters. I wonder what characters we would get swapped out if it was released over here? Check out Megatron in gun mode below: Fortunately for us fans stateside, we would get bombarded by Bayverse movie games in the years following this, an Animated series game for the DS, and two of the highest regarded Transformers games of all time. However, we will have to talk about those another time...
We're havin' a ball over here, as ChaosOmega over on Reddit has gotten their feet on a handball -- I mean, their hands on a football -- from overseas. But this isn't just any flying footy projectile; it's more than meets the eye, because Breakaway is a robot in disguise! I mean, obviously, though. Right? Because why else would we be talking about it here? Anyway, they've provided some in-hand pictures of this totally-not-Optimus football (because you can do that in this version), and we're sharing them here. Soccer to me, baby! Feel free to argue about whether this or those other guys are the true football Transformers, or any other thoughts you have, in the comments below. Or hey, you can also drop into the thread in our forums that's all about the Collaborative line! Source: r/transformers Allspark Forums Discord Server Twitter/X Facebook Page Bluesky Instagram

Somehow Premium Finish returned. TakaraTomy has tweeted a promotional image of Dramatic Capture Series Optimus Prime and Jetfire, revealing all modes of the included toys and their accessories. The set includes Studio Series Optimus Prime and Jetfire, with a luxurious (if incomplete) paint job. Prime notably includes one blaster and both swords, whereas previous releases have included either the blaster or the swords. However, the silver forearms of Studio Series Optimus Prime remain uncorrected. You can't have it all. But if you want to have this, you can snag a pre-order starting March 6. This set is a notable change of pace for Dramatic Capture Series, which up until now has focused on the G1 cartoon, making its trajectory an intriguing reversal of Studio Series. Could this be a one-off, or are Movie toys about to dramatically capture the Dramatic Capture Series? Join the Allspark today.

Garry Chalk took to his Facebook to give us an update on how his battle with Stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma is going, and the news? It's good! Here's the message from the man himself, via Chalk Talk on Twitter: Chalk Talk adds that Garry was the first candidate in Canada to receive an experimental chemotherapy, and due to its success, it will now be used on more patients. I think he would agree that there's a word for that... We knew you could do it, Big Bot. For those who don't know, Garry Chalk is perhaps best known among Transformers fans for portraying Optimus Primal in Beast Wars and Beast Machines, as well as Optimus Prime in Transformers: Armada, Transformers: Energon, and Transformers: Cybertron. Outside of Transformers, he has had numerous roles in franchises such as Mega Man, ReBoot, Sonic the Hedgehog (including a live action part in the first movie), and Masters of the Universe, among many others. The original Transformers Legends line came to a close in Japan back in 2019, and with it ended the manga which told the story of why every single new attempt made over the years to create more cartoon-accurate toys is actually canon to their version of Generation 1, where the characters already looked like the characters to begin with, and oh, I've gone cross-eyed. In all seriousness, though: It looks like TakaraTomy are continuing their Transformers Legends line with Transformers New Legends, which... well, features new Legends toys. And stories! With it comes a new manga titled "The Transformers: End of G1 Universe". Catchy, huh? If you're wondering why it says "Chapter 2" in the above image, however, it's because the two parts of the first chapter were originally published back in 2022 to promote the Masterpiece release of Dark Amber Leo Prime early the following year. But since that Masterpiece line is now kaput, they've shifted the story over to, well, this. As one might infer from the title, this story takes place after the events of The Transformers: Beast Wars Neo, and this episode even cuts back to the closing moments of the final battle of that show in the opening, which also predates the aforementioned first chapter -- basically, the new one is telling us how we got there. You can check out the original Japanese language version over on TakaraTomy's official website, but if you can't make heads or tails of what it's saying, then good news! Thanks to Sabrblade, we have an English translation posted over on our forums! (There's at least one other floating around, but this one's a little more polished.) The first page is above, but there's 17 more just waiting for you! Feel free to talk about this episode here, or the series as a whole over in the "New TakaraTomy Legends Line" thread in our forums!
