My Own Vintage Home Market...or Something Like That!

So I'm doing it! I'm biting the bullet during this busy time of year and having a sale in my home. I've thought about it like forever and decided no better time than now! And since I really do love decorating for Christmas, this IS the perfect time, right? So here's just a smattering of what I have. Please note, as hard as I tried, I couldn't take everything out, so everything is not for sale. Oooops, my bad. Hope you enjoy the pictures and it gives you some inspiration!

A horse feeder turned into a cool looking display!

It's always okay to mix new with vintage! Love the new mercury glass!

This cabinet was in dire need of repair. Love how it works under the TV.

Another little vignette with some fun and quirky pieces.

Who'd of thunk a popcorn maker used to display a winter scene? Me, of course!

A wine carrier caring other things besides wine (go figure), alongside some cheese graters which can also be used for votive holders. Some pretty white velvet pumpkins to complete the vignette.

Loving these velvet pumpkins. They even have a little light scent...yummmm.

A vintage handpainted winter scene. So peaceful....

I really love this piece, a vintage serving dish sitting atop an old farm piece. Again, LOVE!

A Winter Wonderland Mantel

Well we've survived the holidays and some of you may have already put those holiday decorations away. But not me. Winter in Minnesota still has some months to go, so rather than put all mine away, I'll just use them in "winter" displays.

My front room, or parlor as you will, has an array of my silver plated collection of different serving pieces displayed on my mantel. With some trees and extra bling, I have created a little winter wonderland.

Some of the pieces were given as trophies, like this one...

...or this one.

But some were just simply used in day to day life. This one, which I believe is triple plate, was possibly used in a hotel or on a train.

A simple bottle brush tree added to them makes them winterized.

I placed a couple of these vintaged etched mirrors behind them to add layering and additional reflection.

Greens and some twigs were added to bring some nature into the vignette. Though the greens won't last until spring, I'll keep them as long as I can.

A couple of wool pillows with silver snowflakes on them adds to the winter theme. I'm already for the rest of winter in Minnesota...bring it!
