Conference, Saturday school, SigEp

ItalyItaly is officially in 67 days from about 6 days ago!

This past week was super busy but at least we were able to have some fun.

One of Trent’s favorite things to do is facebook hack. This was his latest on my facebook.

On April Fools Day (Trent’s favorite holiday) I was so lucky to get played a trick on. Trent set all the clocks back in the house, cars, computers, and phones an hour so that instead of waking up at 6 I woke up at 5 to get ready. I got ready and couldn’t figure out why it was so dark outside. Trent blamed it on the weather, and silly me I believed it. I got to school and no one was in the parking lot and it was still really dark. At that point Trent texted me asking if I was late and I was confused because why would I be late when I left on time? I wrote back no and then saw the time stamp and realized what he had done. I then waited in the parking lot for a solid hour! He is such a punk but very good at jokes! Touche’ my dear, touche.

The rest of the week was filled with going out to dinner to make up for our laziness!

On Wednesday one my students transferred because his mom moved far away from the school with no transportation. He is by far one of my favorites and so I couldn’t have that so I worked with some other teachers and we arranged to pick him and his brother up each day and drive them home so that they could finish out the year at our school. This started on Wednesday and we had to take a detour route to my Master’s classes. The boys LOVED IT. They felt so cool getting to go and sit in on a college class. I was happy to show them how fun it is.

On Friday our kids were out for the day but we had to work on planning. It was a good day and I got a lot done and I definitely didn’t miss them! That night we had the missionaries over before our elder heads back to his hometown of Utah. We will really miss him, he was a great missionary. After they left we spent the entire night playing Phase 10 and we had a ball. Sometimes you need to take it back and just love on the little things.

IMG_3565 IMG_3566Saturday my kids had Saturday school in which we picked up trash in the community our students live in. It was great to give back and even better to see kids competing to pick up the most trash! That night we went to celebrate the Founding Fathers dinner for SigEp. We had way to much fun and it was so nice to get all dressed up for the night.

IMG_3582IMG_3585 This past week or so we have been working on a table that we got my aunt who got from her grandma. The table is very old and so we sanded it and stained it to give it an updated look. I am so happy with the new stain and now want to stain everything in my house!

IMG_3600Conference this weekend was great and very powerful. I am always so thankful for the beautiful talks that they give and the wonderful words that I can use as wisdom and guidance going forward until we meet again. I am very thankful to not only believe but KNOW that this is the true church on this earth. Church is true.

Spring Break 2013

This last week was so needed, amazing, and full of being lazy and hanging with my man.

We went out, a lot, to eat and I got to craft a little bit! I wanted to post a few of my crafts that I made over the break! I had way to much fun! 🙂 I got a little carried away and made my friend some pillows as well. I was happy to help though! I had a great engagement shoot on Friday and edited all Saturday and Sunday and was glad to get it off and sent before I went back to school. Check it out! www.emmylowephoto.com and www.facebook.com/emmylowephoto

There are 24 days until our state test that I can teach the crap out of the 8th grade Math to my kids. I am feeling stressed, anxious, and ready for this to be done. After that we go to a weddding in St. Louis and then off to DC with my students and I graduate with my masters. This month has the potential to kill me.
🙂

On a better note, Trent got into the University of Utah law school! We haven’t heard from anyone else yet but we are happy he got into such a great school! Image

Here’s to a few crazy months!

I had my first actual shoot today with a friend that I work with!

Her little girl wasn’t to keen on smiling and being all in your face at first but I think I ended with some great shots! I loved getting to do it and really am happy to know that I love what I am about to invest a lot of time in! 🙂

Here are some pictures from today! ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

This is where it begins. Trent got me a camera for Christmas and I am planning on fulfilling my life long dreams of being a photographer. I realize though that you can’t just buy a camera and a lense and call it good. It takes practice. LOTS OF PRACTICE.

I wanted to come up with a business name so that I could at least have a website to post all my pictures.

I liked the following:

Lowe Claus 2012 early visit

Last night I got home from work and Trent had told me I had a surprise but wouldn’t tell me what it was. I hurried home from a meeting and got home and we went out for a quick dinner. I am pretty sure Trent was prolonging it just to get to me, but we had a great dinner and stopped at the store for some snacks and then headed home.

Once we got home I was sentenced to the room so that he could “set up”. I came out and he had the lights off, tree lit, and stockings stuffed ready to celebrate our Christmas together. We were going to wait, but with flying to Utah on Saturday and all the busy planning and getting ready we had to do, Trent decided to surprise me and do it early.

We started each with pictures so that I could test out my Christmas present that he already gave me, my new Canon camera! ImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

We each opened a present at a time and were so happy with what we each got each other. I got Trent a few tools he’s been wanting for a long time and he got me some beautiful earrings and clothes that I will happily wear and my wonderful amazing camera and new lens!! 🙂ImageImageImage

ImageImageAt the end of presents I was trying to be sneaky and left the room and set up the present and made him wait to turn around. When I had the camera ready, I told him to turn around and surprised him with an acoustic electric guitar! He was soooo happy! He is usually not super expressive with presents but this one I think I really surprised him and therefore he was stoked! ImageImageImageAfter that he sent me off to get ready in my pajamas to watch the Christmas Story. I went in to the room and started to try on my stuff and had to run out to show him my new stuff.

When I went out there was a present on the table and I was wondering what it could be, with hope that it was my Tiffany Co. ring that I have REALLY REALLY wanted. I hurried and opened it up and started to cry when I saw blue. I was literally crying when I opened up the box and saw the beautiful glorious ring that I have dreamed of for oh so long. ImageImage

These are all terrible pictures of me but accurate as to how I reacted!!!!! ImageI was the happiest girl in the world and still am today as I sport it on my right hand. You would have thought I was engaged all over again! ImageImageImage

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and gets the best present of all, remembering our savior and spending time with our loved ones.

Merry Christmas,

The Lowes (and baby Jack too!)

XOXO

Oh the life. Catch up. Things going on. New Orleans.

It’s been insane. I sometimes find myself trying to just breathe through the craziness. A little update from the last time I was able to blog…. I turned 24. I am excited for a new year and new possibilities. Trent and I have  a lot riding on this year so let’s hope it all goes well.

We recently got new furniture as well for our living room! We got fake leather couches. They are great and comfy.

I also got to speak in sacrament in August and the reason they asked me to speak was because they needed someone to cry. I love our 2nd counselor and that he would actually tell me that! The first talk they gave me was on premarital sex directed for the teens and the second I was told to help them bring the spirit in through my tears. Other than that things have been busy with school and teaching, as well as me and Trent doing our masters classes. We both turned in our Capstone proposals on Friday and boy did that feel good.

In September we got to go through the temple with one of our young men that Trent has gotten rather close with. It was great to see him go through the temple and soon see him off on his mission. We are so proud of him and all that he has accomplished.

When we had labor day off we spent the day painting new furniture as well as going to the Mid South Fair. Boy was that a mess. I sometimes can’t believe how some people live. Who am I to judge though, I went to Taco Bell and Wendys today for lunch. 🙂

In the middle of May we celebrated Tom’s birthday. It was fun to see him get older and get to go to a traditional Majestic dinner.

We also went to the University of Memphis game that our neighbors gave us free tickets too! It was a great stadium and a lot of fun to get to see a game at the Liberty Bowl. That night we also played BYU in the annual BYU vs Utah game. UTAH killed them! That was a great thing to have for bragging rights this year!

Two weekends ago, Trent’s mom came into town and spent a few days with us. The night she got in, my school played Trent’s school in football. My girls performed and Cindy was able to come see a part of how things go here in the Memph. That night we went to went to BBQ for dinner and got to just catch up. Saturday Trent took the LSAT and did AWESOME I can tell. He will get scores soon! looking forward to knowing what he got. While he was taking the test we went and got pedicures, saw Memphis, went to some farmers markets and that night while he was gone we went and saw Don’t Back Down. It was a great movie and I recommend that everyone sees it. The next night our friends from our ward had us all over for dinner and it was so tasty!

The next week we celebrated our 3 year anniversary! Go us! We got dinner at PF Changs to celebrate the night and Trent got me some really cute clothes for my anniversary. I also got him a Manchester United jersey that he wanted, so he got spoiled too! The end of the week I took Thursday and Friday off and we headed down to New Orleans. We had a cute little apartment for our stay and got some really good food.

That pretty much sums up the last month. It’s been busy but a lot of fun! Here goes to the rest of the month!

Week 1 and 2 under wraps

Well, where to begin on the crazy adventure this year has brought. First day of school went really well. I immediately became attached to my all boys class and absolutely have loved being their teacher. After the first day me and Trent got home and were exhausted and so we went on a weekly date to Steak N’ Shake. It was amazing as always and we look forward to going back.

The rest of the week was spent with Trent studying, us planning, and a lot of going out to eat because I was to dang tired/busy to cook. Sorry hubby. Wednesday of that week was my wonderful and amazing mother birthday. I love her so much and am so grateful for her and all that she does for me. HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY MOMMY!

It was also Trent’s dad, Dennis’s birthday, which made it bitter sweet but we really enjoyed the memories we got to think of about him. We went out to dinner to celebrate his wonderful life at an all time favorite, Bar B Q Shop. It was also delicious. Happy Birthday Dennis, we miss you!
The rest of the week we were pretty exhausted, which is why we fell asleep after dinner on Friday at about 7:30 and didn’t wake up unitl the next morning! 🙂 I love those nights! Saturday night we went out with a few friends and saw The Campaign with Will Ferrel and Zach Gal******* I don’t know how to spell his name. It was pretty funny and nice to just get out for a bit.

The next week 8/13- 8/19 was a little bit faster paced in the sense of getting things done. It was a lot of take out food again but we are getting better. Every Wednesday my friend Belinda comes over and watches SYTYCD and that had been off for 2 weeks so that was nice to have her over with me! Thursday I had try outs for my Majorette team here at the middle school and selected my 15 girls for my team. That was a challenge. Friday night I had a friend who emailed me and said that her boyfriend was in town playing for the Bees team from SLC, so she got us tickets to the baseball game. We had a lot of fun getting to go and watch a good game of baseball but most importantly it included something from home! 🙂 We got our usual nachos, corn dogs, and funnel cake for the game treats and boy did it taste good! Our last stop was Kroger and I was ready to go to bed.
Saturday came and we stayed in bed all day and went to lunch at about 2:30 or so. We went to another favorite spot MC Guinness Bar and Pub. It is so tasty and even better in the afternoon. That night we had our friend Karina over for dinner and watched The Other Guys. I loved the relaxing weekend and am hoping it will be more relaxing next week!

Back to school- 2 Week catch up

The last two weeks have been plenty busy and full of some really exciting things.

Two Mondays ago Trent came up and helped me out in my classroom and getting things ready for the new school year. That night driving home we did a little date night at Moe’s southwest Grill. It was def needed to have a night out just us.

Tuesday was rather busy as I was finsihing up my last project for one of my Masters classes. As I was working on that, Trent was busy studying his life away for the LSAT.

Mid week after work, I went up and helped Trent in his room. After we went and signed up for gym passes at French Riviera with a quick stop after to Costco. We practiced our self control and did NOT eat the pizza but got pita wraps instead. This was a big deal!

Thursday night after work Trent and I were still on this date night kick and trying to do lots of fun things before we went back to school. We went out to dinner to get sushi and had fun night just hanging just us.

Friday night we got a text that our friend Amara got a job in NY and was moving the next day so they wanted to meet up for dinner at Soulfish. We had already made plans to go to Tugs on Mud Island so we went out there and met up with them for one last final double date. I was so sad!! Karina is staying here in Memphis so hopefully we’ll see a little bit more of them, but we are so excited and happy for Amara. GOOD LUCK

Saturday Trent went up to a soccer tournament and I spent they day at Otherlands planning away. I was trying to get everything in and be ready for the next two weeks and boy was it hard to concentrate. After Trent got done, I stopped by Knowledge Tree and then headed home to be with him. That night we went out with the Henriods to Moonrise Kingdom which was REALLY good. We love quirky movies, and this definitely falls in that category.

Sunday we headed to church and as we got there I realized I had about 5 assignments due for my OTHER masters class. I left church a little early and went home and got straight to work. I try to not work on Sundays but considering everything was due that night, I went ahead and did it. I got everything in and just checked my grades and I made a 4.0 again! YEAH!

The following Monday Trent went back to work and was dreading it all Sunday! To celebrate his first night back we went to Buffalo Wild Wings which is by FAR one of my favorite restaurants. Tuesday I got my CAST OFF!!!! I was so happy. The Dr. said I have really bad tendinitis and gave me a cast and steroids. He said a big part of it could be the knots in my back and that was preventing the nerves to connect with my hand. After I got it off it was back to registration for my school, which went REALLY well. We had way to much fun for being at work!

The next day Trent was gone at Young Mens and Belinda and I spent the night chatting and watching Olympics because SYTYCD was not on sadly.

Trent and I have been having so many troubles with our internet and we finally went in and switched it out. Boy was I happy to have reliable service again.

Friday night we had a great night grabbing dinner and new sheets for our bed! I love them! It feels good to cuddle up to new sheets.

Saturday morning was pretty early. I went and got the driver window in the Honda Accord fixed and replaced! I am so happy for this! You have no idea how embarrassing it is to go to a drive through and have to open your door. Especially in the rain. After that I went over to my school and finished up in the room, which took all day. We finally left at about 7 PM after being rushed out and went back after church on Sunday. Talk about a long week. We are looking forward to meeting our kids and will update next Monday on all the fun things we have to share about our wonderful kids.
