Chinmay’s phone’s screen shows incoming call from Samrat. Chinmay swipes to receive the call.
Chinmay: Yes Samrat, what happened? Did you have a drink too many at the bar with us?
Samrat (voice coming from the phone): Have you reached home safe and sound?
Chinmay: Yes, but why are you asking that? I drank the least among four of us.
Samrat: Something strange is happening friend.
Chinmay: What Happened?
Samrat: While driving back home, I saw you standing on the road in front of my car. I hit the brakes hard, and stopped. But then I didn’t find anyone.
Chinmay: huh? What are you saying?
Samrat: Theres more; Before I called you, I got call from Anokhi. When she left for her home, coming out of the bar with us, she had a similar encounter, but she saw Anmol on the road. Just like I saw you.
Chinmay: Thats super weird. Now that you mentioned, I too saw a man, but beside the road, with a white T shirt, bleeding all over, and strangely looking at me. And the guy looked very familiar. By the way any news of Anmol? How is he?
Samrat: No idea, Anokhi said she is going to call him up.
Chinmay: Bro this is too much to absorb, I suppose we should meet and discuss. Ask Anokhi to come over and you pick up Anmol on the way here. He has a bit too much; he shouldn’t be driving tonight.
Samrat: Ok, let me call up Anokhi and Anmol. And Bro be safe, don’t overthink.
Scene 2: Living Room of Chinmay. All four friends (Chinmay, Samrat, Anmol and Anokhi) sitting together. They all look flustered. TV running a News Channel on the background.
Anokhi (Sipping coffee): So after we were told by the bar owner that it was time for him to close shop, we all went on our own way to home – right? And we all had some weird vision seeing one of our best friends on road – except Chinmay, who saw a man in white T-Shirt soaked in blood!
Anmol (keeping the cup down): that’s right – Anokhi saw Me, I saw Samrat, Samrat saw Chinmay!s
Chinmay (fiddling with his cup): we always had our annual get together somewhere, but never had this kind of incident.
Samrat (Leaning back): But the best thing is that we are still together. Besties for life!
Anokhi (raising her cup): and beyond. Anyway, need to go to the bathroom.
Looking up towards TV screen, Chinmay’s expression changes from relaxed to surprise and shock
Chinmay: Yaar, I know this guy! This is the guy I saw on road.
Samrat: What? Don’t you remember, we all have seen this guy last night.
Anmol: Oh yeah! I too remember now – it is the owner of the Bar we were in last night! But what’s he doing on TV?
The TV screen was showing a female news anchor talking about a breaking news.
News Anchor: We just have got a big breaking news! The famous bar – “Unique Night” has met with an accident. It is a quite Bar at the edge of city, which was popular with many in the neighborhood and around the town. The authorities and the fire department have confirmed that they received calls from people living near the bar around mid-night about the blaze. The fire department is yet to confirm the reason of the fire, but the owner Risabh Gill was quite famous with his clients as he enjoyed meeting them. Eight fire trucks are still trying to control the fire. The emergency rescue team entered the fire sometime back to find anyone trapped inside.
(The anchor presses the earphone to listen to something and nods.)
Our onsite reporter has just updated that the rescue team have found some bodies and bringing them out. Its difficult to identify them. The first body was found right next to the entry door, where it seems that he was flung to the glass door and has blood on all his clothes. And he has been identified as no one other but the owner Mr. Risabh Gill himself. They are bringing out three more bodies, but they cannot be identified as they have charred too much.
All three friends slowly stood up with a astonished look on their face and looks at each other. A sound of toilet being flushed comes from the background, as Anokhi enters the room, looking at the TV screen.
Anokhi looking at the TV screen slowly moves around to look at the table and saw four cups lying there, but no-one sitting on the chairs. The News anchor continues on TV.
New Anchor: As we continue to break the news of fire at Unique Night bar, we have just come to know the identity of the three bodies recovered. The one previously recovered; we all know now was that of the owner Mr. Rishabh Gill. The newly recovered bodies have been identified by their belongings, ID cards, wallets and other documents.
The News Channel on the TV now shows three pictures of Chinmay, Samrat and Anmol
News Anchor: The three deceased are identified as Chinmay Prasad, Samrat Roy and Anmol Gupta, who were believed to be friends and were present at the bar since the evening. There was one more friend of them present named Anokhi Chowdary, who might have left just before the blaze started.
