Our Departments
The Department of Public Safety’s primary mission is to provide a safe and secure campus environment that allows students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors to realize their academic and social pursuits.

Environmental Health and Safety manages, administers, and monitors the university’s research safety, occupational health, and hazardous materials management programs.

Fire Safety & Emergency Planning manages the university’s fire prevention and response programs, enforces fire safety standards for all USC-owned buildings, and coordinates emergency-preparedness efforts across the university.

Auxiliary Services provides students, faculty, staff, and visitors with a broad array of services across their six primary business units (USC Bookstores, USC Housing, USC Hospitality, USC Transportation, USC Hotel, and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum).

Administration Finance & Accounting staff work closely with the university’s central Financial and Business Services Office to perform the crucial roles of asset management, budget and accounting services, and financial analysis to support ongoing organizational improvement.

The Office of Sustainability is responsible for managing and implementing the university’s Assignment: Earth sustainability framework, which includes ambitious goals and initiatives for creating a healthy, just and thriving campus and world.

The Administration Division is supported by the Administration IT team to provide IT Services. These services include technical infrastructure, IT operations management, desktop and technical support, systems & web development, IT project governance, and information security support.
University Human Resources supports the Administration Division in recruiting, hiring, employee and labor relations, benefits, retirement plans, wellness resources, learning and development, and career advancement support.

Trademarks and Licensing Services manages the university’s portfolio of trademarks, monitors proper trademark use, and promotes USC’s reputation as a center of academic and athletic excellence by licensing products that feature the university’s marks.
