Product Description

Arpéchéle is a small country in western Europe. Surrounded by the sea and black owers of misfortune called Licorise Nowargue, humans in this country are born with a “death curse” that leads to death by age 23. The people of the country lament and oppose their short-lived fates. And after many years of research, a system was created— a “memory download” system where the body that dies by age 23 is discarded, and only the memories live on. Those who live forever through memory download are known as “relivers” and continue to resist their short lives. Meanwhile, there was a girl known as the “God of Death,” as everyone she was involved with ended up unhappy. Just as she is about to end her life in regret, a mysterious man who calls himself the “Watchman of Death” appears before her. Under the watchman’s guidance, the girl will approach the truth of the “various mysteries of death” that haunts this country, whether she likes it or not… Without knowing that despair is the fate that awaits those possessed by the god of death.

Great game!
Really liked the story for an otome game. The game arrived safely and in wrapped in good condition. Would recommend to those who love playing otome games, but this one does have less romance than others.

I went into this game with a feeling of obligation, feeling that I had to play it because it’s very well known and loved. It took me a few days to get into it, and I was almost feeling a bit depressed about finishing a route, since I knew it would be dark. Nut halfway through my first route, something happened in the story that got me hooked. I realized that even with getting a despair ending, the story was so good. I spent the next week with all my free time completing the game- the first otome game I have played through completely without switching to another game and coming back to finish. I canceled plans, thought about it at work. And I have to say, this game was so good. I am an avid reader and cannot find a single flaw with the story. Normally I dislike dark games, but this game was perfect; it had a story that kept me hooked and such lovable characters. It may be my new favorite otome game, which is surprising because normally I feel that I cannot get as invested in the story of a translated game. Virche Evermore is a game that made me feel so many different emotions at once, and the story will stick with me. People say it’s a depressing game, but to me, it was tragic and filled with love, and was not depressing in the slightest. In short, I really loved this game, so much more than I expected.

Great otome game if you come into it knowing it focuses on sad and tragic romance. The plot is enthralling and focuses on building the world and the characters, and when the despair hits it's heavy. Has some fantastical and sci-fi elements. The game requires going through all the despair endings before you can get the salvation endings, which -may- be happier. The game makes it easy to keep track of routes with flowcharts, knowing where you missed choices, and skipping parts you've already read, so it's not a chore to backtrack. Gorgeous CG and music.

I'd recommend the game if you want a tragic story to bite into with romance elements, it's not a dating sim. But you'll cry about the characters by the end of it.

This was one of the best otome games I've played thus far! It's been a while since I've played a game this good that's kept me hooked until the very end. I enjoyed playing all the character routes and learning about their pasts and secrets. There isn't a huge emphasis on physical intimacy like some games have. The strengths of this game come from the unique storyline, the friendships formed between the suitors, and character growth and development.

Without giving too much away, the game itself is dark, depressing, and many of the "good" endings are bittersweet and don't end how you would want them to. I was NOT expecting the final ending to go the way it did (still salty about it, tbh). Regardless, this is a must have game to add to your collection!

A Heads Up: This game may be triggering, so please do your research before buying. IMO, the game does not go into explicit details, so it made those scenes less uncomfortable.

Virche Evermore was a struggle for me to finish, taking more than 5 months of forcing myself. This game is visually beautiful. The LIs were amazing and were so devoted to the Heroine. The story was amazing. I can typically predict how a plot will unfold but this game brought some interesting twists that I did not see coming. The politics and morality were interesting food for thought. The voice acting was good, even though Lucas spoke a little slow for me. I usually skipped his spoken lines since I lack patience. The music match the dark tone perfectly. There was a particular BGM, where a violin was played badly, that sent chills down my spine.

So, why 4 stars? I have no interest in ever playing this game again. I am not a fan of tragic romances. There is a beauty in it but I want some happy escapism. I did not like the fact that you have to get all the bad endings before you can see everyone’s good endings. The true ending was the best ending and well deserved but I wished everyone got one. Well, Scien is my favorite and he did get good one, so I was satisfied. There was no extras, besides the usual gallery and BGM. The game took over 40+ hours to complete.

Since I like otome games in general, I will always give a game a try. So, take my review with a grain of salt. My review can be seen as whether to play it now or later. If you think Romeo & Juliet is a tragic but beautiful love story, Virche Evermore is the visual novel for you. However, if you are looking for a relaxing, happy and romantic romp, this might be a wait to play.

This is a text based game for girls who like angst. It is great if that it all you want. Plot is noticeably iffy, but that's a minor detail.

This is the best otome in a while…if not the best localized, officially! I was in a slump but this game brought my love for genre back. This is a very dark title where bad ends must be completed to get the better ends. The journey was everything. The plot deliciously unfolded and mysteries were revealed. The VN is also not too route reliant, where I’d likely drop or backlog a game if a love interest wasn’t to my taste. Despite all the despair, I was very surprised at the intensity of the romance. The music while playing was even great. The voice acting was great, some moments with Hugo gave chills. Side characters like Hugo even elicited complex emotions from me. I’m holding back my praises to avoid spoilers. I will say as for cons there were grammatical errors that have not been fixed with an update(…but this is a better release by Aksys on that front). Also, despite the very gorgeous art some sprites looked odd at times. Lastly, the plot is pretty strong but some troupes were a bit eye-rolling to me, I took them in stride and it provided a bit of dark humor. I get why they were there though and help appeal to a variety of people and were still enjoyable (though albeit questionable). Anyway, I recommend! Please Askys also do the fandisc, if possible! A bit saddened this release had no other editions or merch like Jack Jeanne or Hamefura. Though there are some nice quality character cards included.

Top tier otome game that's quite unique. Art/storyline/soundtrack are all superb and unlike anything that has been released recently so it was really refreshing to play. Didn't know anything about the game before starting so just be warned that it's a dark game that might be hard to digest for some players and includes *bad science* (iykyk). But despite all that the good parts of the game outweigh the bad and I finished the game in a couple of days when other otome games normally take me about 1-2 weeks.

Waiting for the FD to come out and despite having a massive backlog of otome games I'll be playing the FD the minute it's out cause I miss the crew so much.
