@ac
lol sorry about that there.
The recent changes is as a result of feedback received. The blue was not reading too well, we changed the text of the blog from grey to black. Keep the feedback coming and as always it will be considered.
how about a discussion on why Barbados does not use wind ,sun, tidal and wave power to make Barbados fossil fuel free and give the people better, cheaper , cleaner electricity.
and why not discuss why Barbados government is selling off the land off my little home country to repay a debt to the IMF and world bank.this is the only reason this is occurring.
and why my fellow bajans want Barbados to look like a concrete jungle like new york. when we have been blessed with what most of the world wants .warm weather and beautiful oceans.
it is unbelievable to me that my island paradise is not represented
by anyone prominent with any deep belief in nature and having a say in how it is being destroyed in Barbados.
my god have mercy.
is it all about money.
we have in Barbados what millions of people living in concrete jungles would give anything to have.but what do bajans want?
to look and have like people in cold countries.
may be we could trade with them.hah
bajans get a grip.
Barbados is a little tropical paradise why are you trying to make it into something it is not.
the monetary system is corruption in itself.
time to get back to our roots.
there i tried.
@ David
I don’t know if this is the best place to mention it but I would like to know if someone from some government office could enlighten me as to what are the rules in place for that “intersection” by the Polytechnic where that left hand lane diverts and then meets with traffic coming from the same Polytechnic round-about ( traffic circle) to go left into Parkinson Field. I was of the impression that traffic using that left diversion were supposed to yield to traffic to the right that is flowing from that round-about. The reason I ask is that this morning when I left the round-about to proceed left into Parkinson Field this vehicle came straight through on the left (I was on his right coming out of the round-about) almost colliding with me as I was negotiating to go left into Parkinson Field, needless to add the cuss out and horn blaring that was directed at me. I have observed previous “near collisions” at this same intersection with traffic refusing to even slow down much less YIELD when coming from this direction! So like I said could someone please help, I mean officially.
Farewell Solomon
A man with a large appetite in every sense of the word.
I happen to know that monkeys are a big pest in Barbados. Some
are saying that they are eating foods they never did in times before. They also seem to be getting bolder going up to windows and looking in houses. I believe the population has exploded so much that there will soon be a major food crisis. Some farmers avoid planting certain foods because of them. Imagine mokeys dictating which foods to plant. We need to control or reduce them now.
can anyone tell me what that awful loud noise was last night.
2.30 am police leading big truck with jungle music blaring.Friday 26 march 2011.
police helping to wake up and disturbing the peace.
some crazy man shouting and screaming so much you can not really hear the so called music.
it was like a bunch of apes with a music box video game gone mad.
are you serious?
if i had sniper rifle !
lol
wish i could find them now at 8 am and do the same back to dem.
see how much dem likes it.

The feature is on now.
was there not a link to report illegal immigrants on here before i don’t see it any more?
where it gone?
can there be a discussion on how the ncc handles the beaches in Barbados?
i see jet skies going from beaches that unauthorized for vessel with motors.
for example Accra beach.
yesterday jet ski rentals and rides abounded.
taking people from Accra beach at the very end before the board walk.
out through the waves at fast speeds.jumping over the waves with small tourist children hanging on for dear life.
i have see tourist fall off on the rocks from these jet skies but the ncc and life guards may own the said jet skies.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
payola and corruption in Barbados as usual as the honest man trying to follow rules gets crushed.and the ones breaking all the rules succeed because their family or friends is in the ncc or they have paid money to rangers ..
i suppose a tourist will have to die before this is looked at.
in Hawaii jet skies are confined to one location and can only be used there.
as driving over the head of a tourist with a jet ski will surely happen ..
these jet ski men are ruthless criminals for the most part but they are out there breaking coast guard laws every day of the week.24/7.
and it goes on on.
lately i was snorkeling at the turtles in paynes bay where a 2 propeller boat
came next to me with propellers spinning and the rasta man shouts out to me snorkeling that i should move quick before they run me over.
by the way true Rastafarian are peace loving and non violent people.
the hair style worn in Barbados does not reflect a true Rastafarian.
not even nearly close.as they eat there pork cutters .and are nasty and violent.
another thing i was wondering would be interesting.
are Barbados life guards allowed to Husserl the tourist chicks and then have sex with them???????
if the woman or man gets pregnant or catches a disease would the ncc
or coast guard be libel for the law suite that could arise,.rape may even be
suggested.these days.
would the government of Barbados be responsible?????
how is it possible for some one to have a spear gun of lower or powerful shooting abilities which can go right through a human and a BB gun which can not do so or even hurt a person much[may be like a bee sting at the most] is illegal but you can wank around anywhere with a spear gun????????????????????????????????????

@ harry | August 18, 2012 at 7:28 AM |
You really are one dirty piece of “white” trash. Only a dirty mouth toothless white Bajan of criminal descent can cuss like a true Irish drunkard. Well done, harry! Just remember that although black Bajans whose forebears were sold into slavery still carry an indelible mental scar of identification yours, dirty mouth harry, were given away as waste of no social value and dumped in the badlands of St. John and its environs to decompose and degenerate both physically and mentally as supremely manifested in you, a recycled idiot.
Deal with that, dickhead, before you are treated like a used condom and flushed away!
I do not have a problem with Harry, in fact I think he would be fun to have a drink with. I share much of what he experiences and he would agree that idiocy knows NO race. In this part of the world the overwhelming proportion of people are of African decent and the overwhelming proportion of opportunities to encounter real stupidity AT ALL LEVELS of society is with Black people. I live here and accept that we are among the last to inhabit this land, but will not agree to sending anyone back to Africa. NO! A lotta dese idiots ’bout hey want dumping in the sea …! HA HA HA
@Sargeant

i remember seeing tom Addams at the Carlisle[harbor whites] with a fields girl
going off to the bath room to do some good coke up the nostrils.quite a hero.
here is a suggestion……..———-
can we find out who the salve masters in barbados were or are.
or have they all fled and their decedents?.
does anyone know who they are ????????????
miller you know all !who are they?
all this talk but do you realize that the English that are buying up barbados
could be possibly the decedents of the slave masters back now things have calmed down to take over again.
that thought ever cross your brilliant little brain mill..
you know the ones that used to tie us out in the sun and whip us to death and rape our wives..do we know who their decedents are ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
i at this point really don’t care as i am lucky enough to have duel citizenship and will be leaving barbados in the next few weeks for permanent.
after living abroad. far away from here where there is 99% white people
i could care less about this horrible little hell called barbados.
good rid-dense to bad rubbish. is all i can say.
when i get on that plane it will all disappear for you all to worry about.
you see when you Negroes visit where i live abroad you have to be on your ps and qs .
you can not behave like you do here or you will be removed by people like hells angles.they don’t like you all,Russian gangs either.the police that are all white mostly don’t like you all either.
my glory is coming soon.
i will be 5 hours flying time from Hawaii.where you can rent a car for 20 us a day.
a new car.and Hawaiians don’t hustle the girls on the beaches .
and their version of the ncc carry guns.
and they Hawaiians don’t like Negroes also/ so paradise.
no begging,just peace full people.
and don’t mess with the Samoans that will be the last thing you do..
best wishes tiny place i was born but has become a disaster.
no applause needed….

They are the remnants of a dying breed of intellectually challenged and skin cancer afflicted socially marginalized lepers. You see what interbreeding and exposure to too much sun can do to a decimated group you so proudly belong to?
Take your leprosy elsewhere but it will not halt the genetic degeneration caused by impregnating your immediate female family members and living with one another in the Sun you left thousands of years ago.
@David
Do they play songs by African entertainers on Bajan radio? I am not talking about Seal who was brought up in London I am talking about songs from musicians who cut their teeth in Africa. Normally their music is classified as “World Music” in the record stores, where music that does not fit the North American mainstream is housed. Here is an example of a Ugandan song with a very catchy beat. It is a protest song by a Ugandan name Bobi Wine who was protesting the actions of a Jennifer Musisi (hence the title Jennifer be Gentle) and who is in charge of the Kampala Capital City Authority and is attempting to clean up the city much to the annoyance of the very poor who eke out a living selling and living in dilapidated shacks in the capital. The Gov’t banned it then backed off but it does not get airplay in Uganda but the Gov’t can’t control the Internet.
It is in the Luganda language so I can’t understand the lyrics but I have the tune in my head and it just reinforces my belief that music is universal.
@Sargeant
Are you serious? You get programs every now and then which feature African music but the daily ‘rotation’ of music typically does not feature African music. You are correct this song has a nice beat but when all is said and done it is not N.American or Jamaican which is the mainstream interest.
Here is one in English by Madagascar Slim (lives in TO) , I have it on Itunes but couldn’t locate it on Youtube. Among other things I like it for its optimistic message.

Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this site. It’s simple, yet effective.
A lot of times it’s very difficult to get that “perfect balance” between superb usability and appearance. I must say you’ve done a awesome
job with this. In addition, the blog loads extremely fast for me on
Safari. Outstanding Blog!
barbados needs to pass a law about party noise in neigborhoods all hours of the night, its outrageous how home owners can get a license to open a food store/ party place and disturb the peace, the politicians should do something about that. Also I cant believe the principal sent kids home because of the wrong color shoes and short skirts, wouldnt it be a good idea to give them a warning, and some time to correct the problem, but let the kids stay in school? Most teachers/ principals are not concerned about teaching the children, they are more concern about exerting their ideas and thoughts on other people, and they know they have their union to back them up in all this bull ….
school uniforms and all the school attire came from the English style, one of these days barbados will adapt an idea to let kids wear to school whatever they want, its not what their wear, its about the teachers investing in the kids education, and stop using the kids as a pathways to teachers ideas. The principal should be sent home for wasting the school children and parents time, teachers in barbados have too many rights and many of them dont deserve to be teachers, because they only take the job for the paycheck. The same old thing is happening from way back in the 70’s when teachers if they had a bad day at home, could come into school and put out their anger and problems on the school kids, sometimes change is a good thing.
one more thing, I love barbados underground, it let bloggers express themselves and it inform readers about everything, the good and the bad, where else would we know about the mistakes they made with our water and light bills, where they over charge people and read the meters wrong, sometimes the workers dont even get out their vehicles, they just assume a bill from the last bill. Those workers should be looking for a job by now.
Is anyone aware if the results of the 2013 census have been published? I have checked and cannot find them on the web. If the results are available can BU do an analysis of the trends and likely impact on economic and social policy?
Have you ever considered publishing an ebook or guest authoring on other sites?
I have a blog centered on the same information you discuss and would
really like to have you share some stories/information.
I know my visitors would enjoy your work. If you’re even remotely interested, feel free to shoot me an email.

here is a king size story for you to ponder,
it has been proven that feeding the green turtles ,the garbage they are fed daily by catamarans and other boats that actually hit them with their propellers.
possibly now would be the time to really look at what you are doing in barbados.putting up a front about caring about turtles .because the stupid tourist want to swim with them.or face the truth.
which is–https://www.facebook.com/notes/barbados-sea-turtle-project/swimming-with-turtles-in-barbados/233500173375352
and further to that —-Adam Hanlon Interesting video. I really don’t like the behaviour here-of the turtles and the people feeding them. Whilst I am not against feeding per se, this seems like a very unnatural event.

Adam Hanlon Whilst I am glad you are feeding them with a better bait, you are still changing their behaviour by feeding and interacting with them so vigorously. It does not sit well with me, but then others may find it acceptable…

Barbados Kayakjack in barbados they sometimes have hundred people grabbing at them tourist.i only take 6 people at a time and wait till the crowds are gone.

Adam Hanlon So are you a tour operator offering these feeding sessions? If so, the fact that others may well not behave as well as you do, doesn’t change the fact that you are altering these turtles behavior (arguably to their detriment) for your commercial benefit..

Barbados Kayakjack it is big industry big boats with big propellers but i use kayaks .here is a link to what you are saying but in barbados they were hunted to be eaten and their until about 15 years ago-https://www.facebook.com/…/swimming…/233500173375352

Adam Hanlon Once again, the fact that other people are doing it badly, and that they were seen historically as a food source, does not really excuse you exploiting them…I am all for interaction, and as I said above am not against feeding per se, but prefer to see interaction when the animal chooses it.

Adam Hanlon Well if you weren’t encouraging them to aggregate in big groups by feeding them (in order for you to make money from them), they would not be there in big groups for people to run through on jet skis. The fact that this is happening shows that the feeding is having a negative effect at some level.

turtle project allows Barbadian businesses to still feed and cause harm to
the turtles everyday . and yet hide behind saving the sea turtles.
what a crock.
