Jeffrey got his motorcycle last fall. He rode it to work a few times and rode around just for the fun of it some other times. Every time he goes, he has his cell phone. That's a good thing. However, he always wears it clipped to his belt, and he doesn't move it or put it somewhere safer when he rides the motorcycle. I always worry that it is going to come off his belt. And then what? He always says it's fine. It's not going anywhere.
Today he got home and said he had, "An Issue." What? "I lost my cell phone." See? I was right to worry. Here's what happened. He went to the movie theater after work to buy tickets for Pirates. As he was leaving the theater, he reached for his cell phone to call me and let me know he had gotten them, and it wasn't there. He patted his sides and pockets but couldn't find it. So, he retraced his route back to work, all the while looking for signs of his cell phone. He got all the way back to work, went up to his office to see if he'd left it there, removed his leather jacket, and the phone fell out onto the floor! It had come off his belt where it was supposed to be, but somehow had managed to get stuck in the jacket.
Even though the phone is safe, I still think I was right to worry about that one - and he's going to carry his cell phone in his backpack, or an inside pocket, or somewhere much safer from now on.

Yes, if there's a clear separation that could work. I'm a bit worried about the freedom of religion thing too, but maybe if it was very very clear that there's a difference between the government's…
