I just read this - that a couple whose minivan was hit by a train on the way to the Memorial Day Parade last year has filed a lawsuit against the railroad company. Never mind that the woman drove her minivan onto the tracks and then couldn't get off because there was nowhere to go, with a car in front of her and a car in back. Anyone with half a brain does not drive onto a set of railroad tracks when there is not room to cross them completely, but this woman did.
Then, a train came down the railroad tracks, where trains belong. The train didn't have time to stop and hit the minivan. The woman survived. Her child who was stuck in the van survived, but the woman's husband - who was driving the car/truck in front of her - and a police officer were seriously injured while rescuing the child.
It sounds more like the police officer should be suing the stupid woman who stopped her van on the tracks. You know, if there just has to be a lawsuit.
