Didn’t realise some people hated this? It must be sad to find no joy in anything. This was the most fun I’ve had watching an action film in quite a while. Already love Predator and, for me, this didn’t feel out of place in comparison just because there’s less gore & slightly less testosterone. It has great action scenes & a crazy amount of violence for its U.K. 12A rating (how did it manage that rating?!). But, yes, it also has quite well-developed characters for a sci-fi action film & a good story of friendship & family. Is that a bad thing? Predator had that camaraderie as well between the dudes? Is it only okay when it’s between men with their muscly handshakes?
Predator is a fun action film as is Badlands. It’s a great sci-fi concept that works really well in both films (as well as those in between, some being better than others but always enjoyable). I could do with rewatching some of them but feel like Badlands may be my second favorite after the original film. It’s a bit like Alien vs Aliens. Yes, Predator is still the best “film” but Badlands was a joy to watch and I loved our unlikely trio as well as the link to my beloved Alien franchise. And that planet with all its killer creatures was very inventive. Not sure how any sci-fi action fans could not have fun with this one. I want a sequel already.
