The window to my soul

has become hidden behind

thick pleated curtains

of deep distrust

draped with precision

to prevent periphery.

As,

lately I’ve been faced

with deceptive eyes

longing for the access

into mine.

For reasons unknown to me consciously, I have chosen two coworkers to teach me lessons by way of annoying pop quizzes. As they whispered and giggled, I continued to mind my business while tending to the task at hand. And then suddenly, their voices slipped out of a hush toned..by karmic accident, revealing my name in slander…once again. Taken off guard, I got up out of my seat, left my office, peered through the cracked door to shoot them a knowing glance, as I headed outside to calm down my startled energy.

My lack of response must have touched their conscious…as my office was later intruded with probing eyes and talks of God, and how we are all sinners with different vices…I listened, but didn’t add much…I never do, for I know that anything I share about my inner world to these two will travel from door to door throughout the hallways sharing the Gospel according to the Great Gossipers…In hindsight, I now understand why my privacy upsets them.

Intuitively, I know that the life I’m dedicated to living makes such faithful churchgoers uncomfortable..unconsciously upset that I turn my back on things that doesn’t concern me..such as other people’s personal business.

Ironically, the theme for Day 3 of Chopra’s 21 Day Meditation Challenge was Freedom to Forgive. Early this morning, between tossing and turning, reading, writing, the New Moon entered Cancer!! How could this not make perfect sense?! My body suggested I take a mental health day off from work this morning, I am now being rewarded for my obedience.

This post is a reminder to forgive your neighbors and love them unconditionally…even if they are nosy and full of gossip. Pray for them, send them love and healing, for they are struggling with inner chaos beyond their comprehension.

Something Like A Leaf In The Wind

and all of a sudden it hits u

I’ve got to do something different

the way the wind blows

against the left earlobe

or tickles the hair in the mustache

brushes up against the hairs on the right arm

or the tingle it causes to race up the spine

an inkling…

a compulsion…

urge…

the Unction

that last one is relative to Spirit

and it is by the Spirit that we should all be lead

driven to new heights

dreams

aspirations and goals

it is..

this… Unction

that causes the baby to make its exodus

sometimes weeks early and still survive

as though it were precisely timed for that moment

even if parts were still developing

the child’s spirit is ready to know Life

to become alive… and to live…

to withstand the process of building character

through pain even from birth

The Spirit untried

is already true.

When the time comes

one must not be afraid to move

but willing… at whatever the cost

to move…

at the Unction of the Spirit

it is Divinely ordered

and set up that way…

unable to say a word

the flowers do this…

trees break new ground…

the winds…

of change warrant Change

and all of Nature responds.

are we not Nature’s Own?

our wings bear our weight

the breeze beckons us to a dance

our hearts desire to soar

and we stand teetering on the edge…

mount up…

trust in the Spirit that you are

a divine entity

not confounded

not glued down

not constricted by time and space

not tied down by fear

indecisiveness

but driven

directed

empowered…

excited…

are aware

that you have been

“anointed…

to fly”

Writing Challenge Word for Day 5: Prepare

It is not enough to declare, believe, initiate, practice..one must prepare.

I am reminded of the parable in the Bible of the 10 virgins..5 of them prepared for the evening by bringing some back up ‘midnight’ oil for their lamps..the 5 that did not had to run back home to refuel their lamps since the groomsmen were now delayed. Once they came back the groomsmen had already arrived, leaving the 5 who missed the ‘meet & greet’ disqualified.

I imagine, earlier that evening, all 10 of them had a slumber party, giggling and dancing as they declare and believe…maybe on the inside they’re anxious to initiate, while practicing their greetings and pleasantries…however, 5 of the virgins walked into an open opportunity blindly, and as a result was never given the chance to reveal the art within.

Preparation is essential to the foundation of any manifestation…the overtime worked while on salary, the research, planning, the organizing, decluttering (of things, people, situations, and thoughts that no longer serve us), the grounding of a sound mind…..as I write this I realize it’s been a while since I’ve taken time from writing to pull out my references: big book of synonyms, a song writing book I’ve barely looked at yet, vocabulary builders, online blogs and tutorials (for photography), etc…I now declare to take out my multicolored pens, index cards, and highlighters this weekend for my studies….

…and thanks to Rachelle’s (who is also taking the Challenge) blog, Summer reading for writers, I found interest in her recommendation Getting into Character by Brandylin Collins and purchased a used copy on Amazon for under $5.

I am realizing that by doing the work, the Universe will delight in my efforts..I mustn’t be too ambitious producing an assertive ego, I mustn’t push or force which only goes against the flow of surrendering, I believe that by doing my due diligence, keeping a positive attitude, and tuning into my intuition…I will know when, who, what and where, and will approach them accordingly….unless it is within accordance that they approach me 1st. 🙂
