Okay, so I have been meaning to put up recent pictures of Kate. Grandpa and Grandma Crockett have been having Kate withdrawals, and I don’t blame them. So these pictures are for them. She is already 10-months-old. I can’t believe it! Kate is full of energy and is quite a happy girl. She is a speedster army crawler and can get around fast. We put her down for two seconds on the floor in sacrament meeting and she takes off. We barely had time to grab her toes to pull her back before she surprised the families sitting in the rows ahead of us. She has been starting to pull herself up on things and stand with only holding on with one hand. Who knows, maybe she will be walking before we leave? Kate loves to wave at herself in the mirror and give herself kisses. Even if we are passing a mirror, she will look over and make a little smacking noise and wave at herself (I think all of the people telling her she is so pretty is going to her head!) She has recently learned to brush her hair as well. At first she would hit herself in the head with the handle of her brush. I had her watch me do it, and then returned the brush back to her. She held onto the handle this time, put the brush bristles against her hair, and stroked the brush down her head. She is quite perceptive and catches on quickly. She wanted to brush her daddy’s hair today, but had to settle for brushing his face instead since he was taking a nap. Today John and I wanted to have a “family nap,” but Kate wanted to play with her dad instead. She kept hitting John in the head and giving him kisses. She crawled all over him and kept falling back on him so that she landed on his back or his face. It was quite hilarious watching her try different tactics to get her daddy’s attention as her daddy was trying to sleep. I was thoroughly entertained.
