Mistonia no Kibou ~The Lost Delight~ Review/Thoughts [Spoiler Free]

After years of being obsessed with The CollarxMalice Ship and can’t get into any other Otomate games, I finally tried out another new game. At first I had no intentions of playing Mistonia at all because the colours on the art are just too saturated for my tastes, and I don’t trust Otomate on their ~~*revenge*~~ theme stories because their heroines tend to be the submissive and forgiving type. I don’t want to read another story where the heroine is a saint that forgives all the dudes…

But boy I’m glad I tried this one! Now I’m obsessed, whoops.

Yami-iro no Maju – “The Magical Pearl of Darkness“

Platform: PC (DVD drive)
Developer: Daisy2
Official Site: http://www.daisy-daisy.in/products/majyu/

Not exactly a review, because I haven’t exactly completed the game and don’t really feel like it. But there is one route that I liked enough to ignore the shortcomings, I guess that’s why I’m writing this.

I won’t put major spoilers about the overarching story (I didn’t even play the last route) but there are a fair few spoilers about the true identity of the characters so be aware of that.

A Brutally Honest Review of “The House in Fata Morgana”

THIS IS NOT A POSITIVE REVIEW. IF YOU CAN’T HANDLE IT THEN DON’T READ.

THIS IS NOT A POSITIVE REVIEW. IF YOU CAN’T HANDLE IT THEN DON’T READ.

This is just a personal blog, nobody cares if you disagree.

So, I played the highly rated and highly recommended game on review sites: The House in Fata Morgana.

To put it shortly, it was…alright. Nothing to write home about. There were some glaring flaws that made the experience extremely unpleasant for me at times so I can’t in my good conscience recommend this game. The story is quite simple, just wrapped up in layers of mystery that stir intrigue in the player. If you were invested in the story and characters, I think it would be a blast.

I wanted to be invested.

Collar x Malice -Unlimited- Adonis Route. In-Depth Discussions about Zero (SPOILERS)

“There are two sides to the world, happiness for someone on one side means that on the other side, someone else must be crying.”

This post is full of spoilers and I will assume people reading have already played CxM and CxMU. But if you haven’t and is planning to, I don’t recommend reading any of my thoughts. Also, they’re my personal interpretations and by no means the “correct” way to interpret the character, just one of many food for thought. If you don’t know who Zero is, you probably shouldn’t read this. Furthermore, this isn’t a proper essay or anything and I can’t be bothered to go through 1000+ screenshots to find all the evidence for my case.

[I might also edit/add bits when I feel like I understand something new, because I still think a lot about this story]

Sona-Nyl of the Violet Shadows ~What beautiful memories~ [Game Review]

main_bg

*** I had this sitting in my draft box for years and thought I’d just publish it because what the heck. Though the plot summary is unfinished, the game is translated as far as I know, so if there’s a chance you can get the PC version, I still highly recommend the game.

I think I’ve already put the basic information about this game in the general review post. I guess this is sort of the plot summary + my own thoughts review.

Though I am writing a plot summary, I wholly recommend playing it for the full experience! There’s plenty of connections to the other Steampunk games because they share the same universe, and seeing as I haven’t cleared all of them yet I can’t say I’m fully aware of everything that is going on (and will I ever be?). But each game in the series tells its own story so it’s enjoyable even if you haven’t played the others!

That being said I’m doing a strange thing by reviewing the PC version but using PSP caps…The plot is the same except for H-scenes and a bit in the last chapter. If you don’t want to spoil yourself just jump to my afterthoughts at the end.

It’s been a while

I’ve been away from otome games in general but I’ve played some in the past few years. It’s great that over the course of 8 years or so (?) that English translated otome games are becoming more of a thing. Maybe I’ll come back and do a few reviews of the games I played recently.

Ourai no Gahkthun [Unboxing]

So for my next Steampunk endeavor I’m going to try Ourai no Ghakthun which is the 6th installment! God it’s hard getting the Steampunk series games these days especially the limited editions…sold out everywhere! I got the last copy on Amazon before the price rockets. XD

This game also had very good reviews, which is relieving because too many games drop in quality as the series goes on, but apparently that’s not the case here! I’ve a feeling I’ll love it just as I did Sona-Nyl. The hero and heroine look very interesting and I’m looking forward to seeing them together in moekyundoki moments (*´艸`*) Though what I gathered from reviews is that this is a giant robo battle game lol… I’m definitely getting the FD and the rest of the Steampunk series.

Sadly my DVD drive just busted on me and now it won’t read any DVDs…only CDs. I searched around for a solution but it’s apparently because the laser’s getting too old…which means I have to buy a new external drive or something, which means I probably won’t get to play until the weekend…  I guess it’s time to get a BD drive. @_@
