Paint. Or more specifically, paint on canvas, or paint on panel. This is the type of work that one generally equates with things that hang in galleries, or museums, or homes. Paintings are the square (or rectangular) things that hang on walls.

Paintings take many forms. Portraits. Epic scenes. Religious communication. Fantasy. Abstract. Scenes of every day life. Landscape. There are hundreds of other genres of paintings, but one thing is for sure, there is a style of painting, and a favorite painting period, to suit everyone’s tastes.

What We Are Working On
Our “paintings” tend to be in close relationship with our watercolours. The paintings are almost always inspired by landscape or nature. Where the paintings differ, is they tend to be more experimental. Often there is a play on how to modernize the landscape. How to present the landscape differently, or paint with a different technique, to reflect a 21st century landscape, rather than a landscape of centuries long gone.

It is not unusual to see hard lines, or segments, in our painted works. Sometimes the paintings are approached more as puzzles than fluid works. Due to the “stop/start” style of creating this work, only a few paintings are completed each year.

Current Work In Progress
Our current painting series explores the relationship between technology and landscape. Works explore how technology can enhance your experience in nature, and give a different insight. In addition to this series, a coastal series of painting is exploring non-traditional use of color. Current work is all about modernizing the landscape.
