Really, I haven't fallen off the planet
It has been brought to my attention that I am once again being a bad blogger. Special thanks to a certain reader in the Northern Wilds(ish) for the reminder. I really should have reported sooner, since there is cause for at least a minor celebration...
The novel is done.
Well, second-draft done (which is actually version 2.5, for anyone keeping track). The manuscript has been sent off to my two readers and now I get to sit here and juggle the cats--or get to work on another story. The nonfiction writing and editing of others' work has taken precedence this last week, so if you need to know anything about equestrian studies programs in the Northwest or the history of Gypsy Vanners, just ask me. I will not, however, divulge the secrets of Cain Xp11 part 3 (or a certain other fiction piece I set my clawmarks on). For that, you'll have to wait until October. If you don't know what I'm talking about, visit Apex Online for part 1 of the serial and an interview with author Geoffrey Girard. A word of caution...this story is not for the faint of heart. Feel free to take that as a challenge. Of course, if you're one of the helpful individuals who has Second Cell (v2.5) in your hands...read that first!
For the writerly among you (or the aspiring), Apex Digest's Halloween Contest is open for submissions. The theme of Post-Apocalypse leaves plenty of room for creative interpretation.
