Inspiration

The idea behind EchoPilot came from observing how much time people spend performing repetitive online tasks. Voice assistants today can answer questions, but they rarely perform real actions on the web. We wanted to go beyond chatbots and build something that turns voice into action. By combining Amazon Nova 2 Sonic’s speech intelligence with AI reasoning, Echo Pilot transforms voice commands into real workflows that interact with websites and services automatically.

What it does

Echo Pilot allows users to control web workflows using natural voice commands. Instead of clicking through multiple steps, users simply say what they want. Understand the spoken command using Amazon Nova 2 Sonic Interpret the task using AI reasoning Execute the workflow automatically Provide a voice response confirming the result

How we built it

Echo Pilot is built using a modular AI architecture powered by Amazon Nova models. Core Components: Voice Understanding: Amazon Nova 2 Sonic processes speech input and converts it into structured commands. Task Reasoning: AI interprets user intent and generates a sequence of actions required to complete the task. Automation Engine: A workflow executor interacts with websites and services to perform the requested action. Voice Response: The system responds to users with spoken feedback, creating a natural conversational loop.

Challenges we ran into

1.Interpreting Natural Language Commands Users often phrase requests in different ways. Designing a system that could reliably interpret intent required careful prompt design and reasoning workflows.

  1. Converting Voice Into Structured Actions Turning spoken instructions into executable automation steps required mapping human language to task logic.
  2. Creating a Smooth User Experience Voice systems must feel responsive and intuitive. Ensuring that users receive clear feedback after each task was essential for usability.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Built a fully functional voice-to-action automation system. Echo Pilot demonstrates how natural voice commands can be converted into real web workflows using AI reasoning.

Successfully integrated Amazon Nova 2 Sonic for speech understanding. This enabled real-time voice interaction where users can simply speak commands and have tasks executed automatically.

Designed a modular AI architecture. The system separates voice processing, task reasoning, and automation execution, making the platform scalable and easy to extend.

Created a seamless user experience. Echo Pilot allows users to interact naturally with technology, reducing complex multi-step workflows into a single spoken instruction.

Demonstrated real-world productivity automation. The project shows how voice-driven AI can help automate everyday tasks like searching information, navigating websites, and performing actions online.

Built a working prototype within hackathon constraints. Delivering a functional system that integrates voice AI, reasoning, and automation within a short timeframe was a major achievement.

What we learned

Building Echo Pilot taught us several valuable lessons: The power of AI reasoning combined with voice interfaces How Amazon Nova models enable intelligent automation The importance of designing systems that solve real user problems rather than just demonstrating AI capabilities We also learned how to architect modular AI systems where speech processing, reasoning, and automation work together seamlessly.

What's next for Echo Pilot

The next step for Echo Pilot is to expand its capabilities from simple voice commands into a fully intelligent voice-driven automation assistant. We plan to enhance the system with multi-step task planning, allowing Echo Pilot to complete complex workflows across multiple websites and applications. Future development will also focus on improving contextual understanding so the assistant can remember previous commands and personalize interactions for each user. We aim to integrate more enterprise tools, APIs, and productivity platforms, making Echo Pilot useful for business automation, accessibility solutions, and everyday digital tasks. Ultimately, the goal is to evolve EchoPilot into a scalable AI co-pilot that can seamlessly translate natural speech into reliable, real-world actions across the web
