Geocaching is basically a real-world treasure hunt using GPS. People hide small containers, post the coordinates online, and others go out searching for them. When you find one, you sign the logbook and move on to the next hidden spot.

The fediverse is basically social media without one giant company controlling everything. Instead of a single platform owning the whole network, it’s made up of many independent servers that connect to each other. You join one server, but you can still follow and interact with people on others, kind of like how email works.
