About us
BagelBytes is an FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) based in Santa Clara, CA. We are a community team compromised of high schoolers from over 6 different schools. BagelBytes is dedicated to fostering leadership, robotics skills, Gracious Professionalism, and Coopertition in high school students. Through innovative programs and hands-on experiences, we empower youth to become the leaders of tomorrow's technological advancements.
About the challenge
Participants will be given a month to create their own project of any kind on Scratch, a block code platform. Projects can range from games to websites, and our team will provide free online workshops during the duration of the hackathon to teach block code. Participants will be given a week to create their project and watch workshop videos on their own time. Middle and high schoolers with any level of experience can join, including beginners! The winner will receive a 50 dollar gift card!
Requirements
What to Build:
The sky is the limit! Using Scratch, create any appropriate game with an objective and at least one way to win/ lose. For example, you can create your own version of Candy Land or Wordle, or you can create your own completely new and unique game!
What to Submit
Please submit a file containing your Scratch code. Please also include a 2-4 minute video playing your game, explaining your code, and listing the rules and conditions to win your game. Please ensure that your video does not go over 4 minutes.
