The University was kind enough to finance a trip to my favorite foreign country this summer to buy books, meet authors, and do some research. I love this part of my job. Truth be told, I love pretty much every part of my job (except grading papers). So I'm very excited to abroad. The lame part, though, is that I do not have my travel partner with me. We decided that it would be to much to bring the kids with us, so Janine stayed home with the wee ones. She's very sweet like that, and I promise that I will make it up to her for our anniversary! But, in the meantime, she sent me some really sweet pictures so I can see the kids. They're beautiful. She's beautiful. I miss them.
Tyra, Lily, and Beth have been ever-so sweet to Sam and Cora. They are great cousins and we wished they lived closer. As you can see, Sam is turning into a chunker. At four months, he weighs about 15 pounds. And he's still the smiling-est little boy I've ever seen.

Speaking of Cora, she's now decided that she can climb trees. This happened right after I left, so I haven't seen her do it and am all concerned that my baby girl will be wanting to drive when I get back. Should a two and a half year old be that high up?
