On the evening of the ward trunk or treat Samuel didn't want to wear his costume, which meant he got to be a fireman. Since he wears his shiny red rain boots pretty much everyday, it is simply a matter of putting the right onesie on, and voila! Fireman. Everyone is happy.

Happy Halloween!
Cora wanted to reprise her role of Seat Otter, and the outfit still just barely fit, so that made things easy. Sam has fallen in love with monkey everything, so he insisted on wearing the monkey outfit even though it was size 3T/4T, and we had 3 other outfits in his size. With the aide of some elastic bands we were able to fix his suit so he could walk without tripping.

Getting my crafty on!
The last two months I have been reconnecting with my crafty side-- dormant for many years now, but a lady in our stake generously organized and hosted a series of craft nights to make advent calendars. When I was a child someone made us a Christmas advent calendar which I absolutely adored. It was a highlight of each December to get out the calendar and count the days away until Christmas arrived. October was especially fun since we have Cora & Brian's birthdays to celebrate along the way. Moving the little skeleton counter was the first thing Cora did every morning. Now with the Give Thanks tree Cora gets to name something she is thankful for, I write it down and place it in the pocket of the day.
