Today's Tao of Cora

A couple of years ago I started writing down crazy things that my sweet daughter spouts off from time to time. Here are a couple of recent goodies:

[Sitting at the table finishing up lunch.]
C: Dad, I am a unicorn pegasus. That means I have the power of magic and wind. Sam is a dragon. That means he has the power of fire and fighting. You are a dad. That means you have the power of rock and awesomeness.

[In the upstairs bathroom.]
S: Daddy, I just got a big poop out.
D: Way to go, little man.
S: Daddy, it looks like a dragon.
C: Wouldn't it be cool if Samuel's poop turned into a real dragon?
S: My poop turns into a dragon. Raaaaaawr!
D: Um, but then we'd have a poop dragon in the house.
S: Raaaawr!

[Getting ready for bed. Lights out. Children decide to make one more trip to the bathroom. While they're taking care of business, I go into my room, plug in, and start rocking out the lead riff of AC/DC's "Back in Black." Enter Cora.]
C: Dad, I'm all done.
D: OK, go get in bed.
C: But Dad, I want to rock out to your music.
D: No, you don't want to go to bed.
C: Yes, but I still want to rock out.
[I cave, because honestly, how can you argue with logic like that?]

Little kids, big bean bag

We just got back from our trip to Ohio & Indiana and visiting with some wonderful old friends.  At the Luke's house, our friends lent us their sewing expertise, and I was the helper in the construction of a giant bean bag. This afternoon, back in NC we filled the shell with foam, and the kids are having a blast on it. As you can see, there is plenty of room to romp!
