💻 Software Engineer | 🧠 Data Scientist | 🌍 Geospatial Architect | ⚡ Web3 Explorer
I architect core infrastructure for the world’s geospatial data. My work focuses on making massive earth observation datasets discoverable, verifiable, and production-ready through high-performance backend systems and open-source standards.
- 🌐 StacLabs: I founded StacLabs as a community-oriented incubator for advanced, production-ready geospatial utilities. Our mission is to mature experimental STAC extensions—like multi-tenant catalogs and virtualized search—into stable, standardized tools that the entire community can rely on.
- 🚀 Healy-Hyperspatial: My boutique consulting firm where I help organizations architect next-gen geospatial backends, specifically optimizing STAC API implementations on Elasticsearch and OpenSearch.
- ⛓️ stacchain: An R&D project exploring the intersection of Earth Observation and Blockchain. We build tools to enable data integrity, provenance, and decentralized economic incentives for geospatial assets using Merkle trees and cryptography.
- SFEOS: Leading the development of the Elasticsearch/OpenSearch backend for
stac-fastapi. - Hierarchical Catalogs: Finalizing the Multi-tenant Catalogs extension for scalable, scoped data discovery.
- Languages: Python (Expert), Go
- Geospatial: STAC Spec, GDAL/OGR, Cloud Optimized GeoTIFF (COG)
- Data Stores: Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, PostgreSQL (PostGIS), MongoDB, Redis
- Infrastructure: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions (CI/CD)
- stac-check / stac-validator: The community standards for linting and validating STAC metadata.
- merkle-tree stac extension: Ensuring metadata integrity through cryptographic hashing.
- stac-fastapi-mongo: A high-performance MongoDB backend implementation.
I’m always looking to connect with folks working on open-source geospatial tech, data provenance, or high-performance search engines.
