We Found The Digital Camera!!
In an odd fit of cleaning today I found the camera wedged in an obscure part of the couch (Jeannie knows what I’m talking about). It has a little superficial damage but is none the worse for wear. It has some pictures from today as well as a few older ones. I’m off tomorrow so I will be posting them. Drop in around 3 or 4 to check.
Also, an amazing story that Jared told me that I thought you’d all like….
Joel has a personality all his own. Jeff was a really active kid, but Joel tends to sit back and watch how things are done before tackling them himself. This makes him 10 times more dangerous than Jeff ever was. Take, for example, opening doors. We never saw him even attempt to open a door until the day he walked up and opened the front door. We never saw it coming.
Jared put Joel in his room for a nap. We have a doorknob cover on the inside so he can’t get out at naptime. He cried and screamed and banged on the door for a bit. Later Jared went to check on him. I kid you not when I say that Joel had taken apart the bottom hinge of the door! I’m certain that if he’d had anther hour and a chair he could’ve gotten the top hinge too! He was pleased as punch with himself and heaven only knows what kind of evil genius scheme he is concocting as we speak….
Whew…

I just finished working my first 40 hour week, and I am BEAT! I get a couple days to relax a bit, because Jared is off to drill and took the boys with him to visit the grandparents. Jeff is VERY excited and has been talking about nothing else for days now. His latest thing is saying “I’ve got good news and bad news, which do you want first?” Then he tells you the news. Of course, his version of bad news is usually something like “I don’t see any airplanes in the sky right now”, but we should all be so lucky to have that as bad news, right?
I’ve sort of learned how to drive the Bus, and I manage well enough to go to the store. The true test will be tomorrow when I have to venture on base for the first time in it. I am scared that I will stall right at the front gate, talk about embarassing!! But I haven’t stalled at all today and I’ve driven it twice, so we shall see.
We can’t find the digital camera, which is bad because, a)it was expensive and we can’t afford to replace it, and b)it had some cute pictures of the boys with their buzzcuts that I can’t show you now. Here’s hoping that it will turn up soon. Probably in Jeff’s room with pictures of his new favorite toys saved on it.
Well then, I’m off to watch a movie, alone. I’ll probably sleep on the couch because the bed seems so big without anyone to share it with. Usually when Jared is gone I let the boys sleep with me, but that just isn’t an option today….*sigh*
words, words, and more words

Joel has started talking so much lately. It’s crazy to hear him pop out with something we never knew he could say. Jeff talked so much and so early that we were beginning to wonder if Joel would ever start talking. He’s just so much more chill than Jeff that he really didn’t feel the need until now I guess. water, more, Jeff, so many words so little time!
Also, in un-word related news…Joel has used his potty 3 times in the last month! He’s not die hard dedicated or anything, but he does try to pull off his diaper and break into the bathroom. Just the thought of finishing potty training the “last one” makes me want to do the happy dance!

“I’m so sick of picking up my toys from the living room. I just can’t take it anymore!” -Jeff
