I am so far behind in blogging; I have computer woes to thank for that...and three kids. :) But, for now I am going to skip everything I have to catch up on and write down the events of yesterday. They were memorable for me and every time I think about them today I just start laughing.
I will begin with the morning. I was attempting to get all four of us out of the house by 8:00 am fed, dressed, and ready to hit the road. I planned to drop Marshall off at school at 8:15 and then hit the gym at 8:30. At 7:40 I was feeling great and things were running right on time. I had just picked up Rachel to change her poopy diaper and and on the way to her room she threw up all over herself, me and the floor. I turned her around and she threw up two more times. I looked up from this to see Marshall dry heaving in the hallway. I asked him if he was okay and he yelled, "This is gross! I can't look at this!" I told him to go to his room and just get dressed and thankfully that solved his problem. :) I then cleaned up Rachel, which obviously took a while, then cleaned up the floor, decided to bag the gym, and threw everyone in the car just a few minutes after 8:00. It wasn't until I was driving to school that I realized I was still covered in throw up and I wasn't wearing a bra. Awesome! Fortunately, I was wearing my winter coat so the bra issue was hopefully not noticeable. :) But, I'm sure my left leg being covered in vomit was. Ah, a great morning!
Next up, the afternoon. Now, the kids had lost their TV privileges the night before, not a minute of TV was allowed. I will admit that while I was sad, for selfish reasons, to revoke this privilege, I also saw it as a good challenge for myself. I've always limited TV time for my kids, but let's be honest, adding Rachel to the family has thrown us all for a bit of a loop so the TV has become a wonderful thing, but also over-used. Marshall and Bridget actually did great yesterday and I did not have to endure one temper tantrum, very surprising. The three of us did have a lot of fun together and so I'm glad for that and also quite proud of myself!
This lack of television obviously brought their imaginations to life. At about 2:00 in the afternoon Marshall recited some poem to me about an apple and a friend. He asked me to give him an apple that could be his friend. We had just eaten our last apple the day before and he was heartbroken so I offered him a pear. He was elated about this and immediately began playing with this little green pear. Bridget, of course, wanted a pear friend of her own so he gave her one. She promptly bit into it and Marshall just about died. "Don't, that is your friend! Don't eat your friend!" He was quite emotional about the whole thing. I got him calmed down and he resumed playing with his pear. A few minutes later he announced to me that the pear and our BYU nutcracker Christmas ornament were getting married. Talk about imagination.

Lastly, at 4:00 I was on the couch feeding Rachel, and as always, covered up. Bridget picked up baby Jesus from our Fisher Price nativity and announced that she was going to feed baby Jesus. She sat on the couch, covered herself with a blanket, and put baby Jesus under the blanket with her. When it was time for me to burp Rachel, Bridget followed suit by putting baby Jesus on her shoulder and patting him. About this time Marshall saw what was going on and decided to get in on the fun. He picked up another character from the nativity scene and said he was going to feed President Monson. Marshall sat by me, covered himself with a blanket, and even made sucking sounds. So there we were, all three of us, feeding our babies, covered in blankets. After a few minutes Bridget removed her blanket to show me again that she was feeding baby Jesus...from her belly button. Oh that girl, I love her.
Here's another little girl that I love...and Richard too...
