Preschool Wrap-Up

Bridget had a remarkable year in preschool.  She loved going each Monday and Wednesday and made many, many friends, and in turn, I did too!  I have a special place in my heart for Mrs. Pfaff and Mrs. Bartsch.  They were Marshall's teachers too and they have done so much for our kids and I love them.

Bridget had her preschool graduation one week early because Mrs. Bartsch was going to be out of town for a conference.  It was simple and informal, but so sweet.

After school we had lunch at Chick-Fil-A with a bunch of preschool friends; it was great!

A week later we attended the all school picnic.  It was so fun!  All the kids gathered and sang some songs they learned through the year.  After that we had lunch and played and spent four hours at the park.  It was delightful!  Marshall lucked out and didn't have school that day so he got to join us for all the fun.

We love Curiosity Corner!

Not the greatest picture, but Rachel has become quite fond of Bridget's preschool friends.  They are each so kind to say hi to her and even play with her at times.

Visit From Grandma Becky

Back in April Richard was gone for a week.  He had been gone for a week in March too.  We are used to him being gone.  He works long hours and since January has been going to the hospital on Saturdays to study.  I feel like I usually handle his absence well.  We are more relaxed in our routine, I hardly cook, there are some perks.  However, that week he was gone in April was long and hard.  I felt like all four of us were just about at our wits end, especially me and Marshall.  Richard had to be gone again in May and I knew I didn't have it in me to do this alone again.  My parents had just been out in March and I didn't want to ask them to spend more money on flights when they had just barely left.  After two days of debating, I emailed my mother-in-law and asked her if she would come.  Within 24 hours she had her flight booked and I was beyond relieved and so, so thankful.

We had the best time with Grandma Becky.  She hadn't seen the kids in 11 months; Rachel was just barely crawling the last time we saw her!  It was wonderful, helpful, and we all made some really great memories.

A visit to the beautiful botanical gardens.

Mother's Day

My Mother's Day was wonderful and complete with a hot breakfast, a two hour nap, and dinner and cinnamon rolls made by Richard.  I was showered with sentimental gifts from my kids.  And we wrapped up the evening with a visit from the Hassells.  Can't ask for any more.  Well, actually, I wanted a "perfect" picture with my kids, that didn't happen, but I got a lot of laughs in the process.

Love this family of mine.

We took 11 pictures.  They prove that Marshall is a trouble maker and Bridget is 100% photogenic.

Bridget And Max

These two have become practically inseparable.  I have quite a stockpile of heartwarming photos for their wedding video.  She is going to be lost without him when we move.
