Great Weekend

This last weekend was a ton of fun. On Friday after Josh was done working we took off and headed to Greeley, CO. We arrived at our friend’s, Darren and Brenda, house at about 9:00. We visited and played games until late that night.

The next morning we got up and all headed to Laramie for the BYU, Wyoming football game. We stopped at the Brown and Gold store to get some shirts for Josh and Addy and to see the picture on their wall that has Josh, Darren, and Brenda all in the back ground. Very cool!

After that we headed over to the Cowboy Joe club park. There was a blow up play land for Addy to play on and lots of military equipment to check out.

We grabbed a quick bite and then headed over to War Memorial Stadium. The game didn’t have the outcome I’d hoped for, but it was still fun. One of my high school friends was there with her baby girl, Annika. After the game was over, we went down to check out the field and got to have pictures taken with Pistol Pete. Josh and Addy had fun acting like they were playing football.

Here are some pictures to show the fun weekend.

We didn’t know this little girl, but she kept wanting to help Addy.

I know that once again I’ve added a lot of pictures, but I love them all. I hope you all enjoy them.

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone and Happy Blogging.

Happy Birthday

November is a month filled with birthdays. First of all I’d like to wish my mom a happy birthday. We got together in Vernal to have a celebration. I hope that she had a great time. I know that Addy and I enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I forgot to take my camera, so I didn’t get any pictures. I’ll have to get some from the rest of the fam to add later on.

Last Wednesday was Josh’s birthday. Wednesday’s seem to always be busy. It just happened to be parent observation week at the dance studio, so Josh and I went to watch Addy’s dance class. It was so fun to see how good Addy is. I have no idea where she got that talent, it certainly wasn’t from me. Afterward we went and had lunch together. Josh said it was a great way to spend his birthday. I’m so glad that he has a job that affords him time to take off to watch his daughter. He was the only dad there.

Halloween

I know. Halloween was weeks ago, but life is crazy. So, I’m finally getting pictures on from the holiday.

Every year, our ward gets together for a trunk-or-treat and chili cook off. It’s tons of fun. This year there was a huge turn out. All of the kids had the cutest little costumes. Addy was a little butterfly princess. I had way too much fun getting her ready. I put curlers in her hair and put play make on her. She was too, too cute.

I’m quite sure that she was having as much fun as I was.

On Monday, we ventured over to Tridell for a family party. There was tons of fun to be had.

Uncle Wiggy and Aunt Stephy swiped some of their accessories.

We couldn’t hold anyone back from dancing.

Then on Halloween Josh, Addy and I went trick-or-treating with a group of friends in our neighborhood. Afterward, we went home and while I passed out candy, Josh and Addy carved the pumpkin.

I know that I’ve added a lot this time, but we had too much fun this Halloween not to include it all. I hope everyone else had as much fun. Thanks to Aunt Lori, Aunt Amy, and Grandma Merkley for including us in the party. It was a blast.

I was tagged!

Alright, I guess I had better do this since Amanda tagged me. Six facts about myself? I think you all will find me fairly boring but oh well, here goes.

1 – I watch way too many sports. At this very moment, I have the NASCAR race on the TV with the Colts vs. Patriots football game on the DVR. There is always something that only happens once a year, so that excuse works a lot. Saturdays are by far my favorite though. Nothing is as fun to watch as a good college football game.

2 – I am a loner. Amanda has to practically force me to be social. Not that I don’t like hanging out with other people; I am just content to do my own thing. I am lucky the Andersons forced me to go to the YSA activity, or I might still be single. This might also explain the reason I love driving around in the middle of nowhere for hours without end.

3 – My daughter Addy has me wrapped around her little finger tighter than all get out. Her beautiful brown eyes make me smile every time I look at her. She is my dream come true and can’t believe I got so lucky to have such a sweet little girl. Now if we could just figure out how to get her a sibling or two!

4 – I have wanderlust. No matter how much I love living in any place, I always have the desire to find somewhere else. Don’t read into this too much anyone. We love Colorado and don’t plan on moving for a very long time, if ever. I will just have to figure out a way to visit all the places out there worth visiting.

5 – I am a nerd. I hunt out survey markers for fun. Need I say more?

6 – I will officially be an old fart in two weeks. It is funny; in Japan everyone thought I was at least 40. Here everyone thinks I am about 22. I get a lot of grief at work because the guys think I am this little punk kid.

There it goes. I have no more amazing revelations. You all know everything there is to know about Josh Merkley. Blog at ya later!
