There is a construction zone outside our yard with the widening of a road, and Cade is fascinated with the equipment! He stood at the window for quite a long time watching what I thought was a digger. I was all proud of myself for teaching him to say "digger", and I have now learned that he was actually watching an excavator. Oops. The "digger" was gone this morning and he was quite disappointed. I see lots of toy trucks in our future! Uncle Chris, if you could see this, I know you would be proud!

Weekend Adventures
We had a fun weekend! Cade had his first trip to the pool on Friday. I think he liked it. His favorite part was standing on the side and playing in the fountain. Another highlight was the snack afterwards! Cade is obsessed with crackers, and anytime you get a box out of the pantry, he starts asking for crackers. Here is a picture of him on the side of the pool waiting for his snack.

We also had a fun family trip to Research Park this weekend. Holly had lots of fun playing in the water, and Cade enjoyed his breakfast while watching Holly and Chance play.

Chance only has 3 more weeks left of school, and we are really excited about the summer!

Cade's Favorite Things II
While enjoying Mother's Day and watching Cade play, I remembered our past posting of Cade's favorite things. He has some new favorite activities, so here are some pictures of him playing yesterday.
Petting Holly, of course!

Pulling his "pet" around the house

This is really an exercise ball pump that Chance used to blow up Cade's pool. Cade loves the air pump more than any toy right now. Go figure!
Sliding down the slide

Bubbles!

Wagon rides (thanks, Papaw and Melly!)

A bonus - pulling the wagon through the grass is quite a workout for Mommy and Daddy!

Our hippie grows up
Cade got his first haircut on Saturday! Chance and I had a long running debate about whether or not to cut his hair. Originally, Chance wanted to buzz it for his first birthday, but I wasn't ready to let go of my baby's hair. Then, after LOTS of comments about Cade's long hair at Chance's athletic banquet last Tuesday, I decided it was time for a trim. But then, Chance was the one resisting! In the end, we decided that our long haired hippie needed a big boy haircut. This picture was the inspiration:

That was before.
This was during:

Actually, the haircut really wasn't bad. We had an excellent stylist, and between Daddy's comforting arms and the steady stream of Cheerios from Mom, Cade was quite good.

One Year Pictures... Results!
We finally received our CD of pictures from Cade's photo session last month, and we are so pleased! We really thought it was a complete disaster based on Cade's mood, but we were wrong! Our photographer, Sarah Giles with Butterfly Chaser Photography, will now be affectinately referred to as "The Miracle Worker". Her editing skills turned a tearful photo shoot into really great pictures!
The files are really big, so we were only able to post one favorite. If you want to see some more, please let me know and I can email them to you.
