Spring Sports

While football dominates our fall, we have quite a few activities to keep us busy in the spring!

Soccer: Cade played Upward soccer for the first time, and especially enjoyed running, throw-ins, and headers.

The coaches gave out buttons at the end of each game to recognize the players' contributions. Cade was very happy when he received the offense or defense button, and we were especially proud of his Jesus buttons. He usually earned these for being the guy that volunteered to chase the ball wherever it went. This boy just loves to run, no matter the reason. Notice Annie just outside of the circle. She wants to do everything Cade does so bad! I think we will sign her up for soccer next year.

For his birthday, Cade requested time away from Annie. While this was a little heartbreaking, we could oblige his request by taking Annie to her first dance clinic with the CSHS Strutters! She was younger than the other girls so I wasn't sure how a 3 hour clinic would go, but besides one little meltdown over a toy, she loved it! I learned that I still have a deep-seated fear of dance team instructors, and I also learned that I still love learning new choreography (and I MIGHT have practiced Annie's routine with the YouTube video they posted). But enough about me... here's our precious
tiny dancer!

We usually take our first trip to the pool at Spring Break, but it didn't really warm up enough until April this year. And when I say warm up enough, I mean it was warm enough for Chance and the kids but not even close for me! Someone had to take pictures, right?

Chance's sports keep us busy too! We got to watch the Cougars' spring football practice in the A&M indoor stadium, we celebrated the powerlifting team's successes at a dinner at C&Js, and we even went to watch the Caldwell softball team in the playoffs.

Cade ended his school year with a celebration for all of the students who earned their Golden Shoe, which means that they earned at least 9 toe tokens during the year. Running 20 laps earns a toe token. Cade actually earned 12 tokens this year!

We do occasionally squeeze in academics. Cade's school had a science showcase, where students got to show off their research on their favorite animal and conduct an experiment with their team. Cade researched the cobra, and his favorite fact is that cobras eat other cobras. Lovely.

And Annie learned how to write her name!
