“the notion of urbanisation presupposes the fundamental substitution of politics with economics as a mode of city governance to the point that today it is reasonable – almost banal – to ask not what kind of political power is governing us, but whether we are governed by politics at all – that is, whether we are living under a totalitarian managerial process based on economy”

This Blog documents my thinking on Architecture, Politics and the City. I am currently working in Glasgow, Scotland, and continue to explore ideas concerning the nature of ‘Public Space’ in the contemporary city, its ownership, control and its role in urban communities. In conjunction with text based investigation, continuing the work undertaken during Masters Thesis, completed in 2012 at the University of Dundee, this research is explored through a series of design proposals visualising an alternative definition for a formal, structured sense of genuine, democratic, political space.
