Meet the Presses 200[?]

The Meet the Presses Collective

We at Meet the Presses value small presses and the authors they publish and we support the ongoing creation of new literary work in all formats and across all genres. Our annual Indie Literary Market is an invitational event for independent literary publishers—presses, micropresses, zines, and journals—as selected by our volunteer collective. Being nonprofit and unfunded, we have limited resources, and must make some difficult choices. A new curatorial duo is appointed each year from within the collective, with the aim of providing a diverse and varying representation of publishers from within and beyond Toronto. We would like to expand our horizon: new literary publishers, especially those publishing marginalized voices, are encouraged to write to us at 2meetthepresses@gmail.com and introduce themselves, with the understanding that an invitation to the Market is not guaranteed.

Meet the Presses members are Gary Barwin, Becca Lawlor, Jennifer Lovegrove, Madeline Rossell, Renee Sarojini Saklikar, Shaylyn Schwieg, Eugénie Szwalek, Aaron Tucker, Jacqueline Valencia, and Tali Voron. Founding Members Emeritus are Paul Dutton, Maria Erskine, Ally Fleming, Beth Follett, Maggie Helwig, Leigh Nash, Nick Power, and Stuart Ross.
