The excitement of selling your novel is extraordinary. I’ve had some “pre-publication-orders” from people who’ve read METAL MAN WALKING, but this morning a friend of mine from WordPress actually went out on a limb and purchased my novel, ANNIE DREAMING from Amazon.com directly. Now, that’s awesome. (Thanks, Michael!)
I realize that it’s hard to go out on that limb and buy a novel from some ‘unknown’ author. But, I can tell you without equivocation, that I’m a fine writer.
God gifted me with this talent, and I love Him for it. I thank Him every day – heck, almost every waking minute – with my love of language – yes, specifically the English language. I ask Him to help me be faithful in actually USING this gift!
I start STREET PREACHER on November 1st as part of NaNoWriMo 2012. I plan to write a rough draft of this new novel in 30 days. The aim is 50,000 words by midnight, November 30th, 2012.

Floating Up and Through My Head
In Starbucks at the hospital day before yesterday, standing in line. A fellow worker at the hospital catches my attention, says, “I’m reading METAL MAN WALKING. I love it. I love the way you write.” Then she mentions Dan Brown – I think – and says a few more wonderful things about my writing and my novel that sort of float up over my head and around or through my ears into and out of my brain so that I’ve no idea what else she says.
Now, all I need are more readers!
Final – ? – Proof Ordered
This morning, I ordered the final proof of ANNIE DREAMING – assuming the spacing ( uh, that’s formatting ) is correct; that no typos exist, that I don’t have a sudden epiphany – add this, take this out, change this around – it will be available this weekend on Amazon.com.
Of course, you know I’ll let you in on its release! I’m just so excited like a mother ready to give birth.

ANNIE’S DREAM Proofing
Unable to sleep last night, I sat up in bed to read ANNIE’S DREAM through again with my pen in hand. I wrote several new sentences, corrected words I didn’t care for, added a paragraph here and there.
My novel, companion to METAL MAN WALKING, is close to birthing.

PROOF of ANNIE’S DREAM
I just ordered a proof of ANNIE’S DREAM for review. I’m going to sit down with a hard (paperback) copy of my baby with my red pencil in hand, glass of red wine in the other, and I’m going to read, read, read and change, change, change and maybe add some more content, etc.
I’m so excited to see my baby in print.
