Using a white background doesn’t allow the model to melt into the background/darkness. The white background silhouettes the areas of less illumination.

One light was used, it was placed to the right of the frame and about even with the model.

This is a digital image processed in Lightroom. The contrast and exposure were adjusted and the image was cropped and rendered to a monochrome via a Lightroom preset.

 I wanted strong contrast to create a little drama as does the pose.

I Thought an older style dress in an Industrial type setting would be interesting.

                            Standing Nude With Hands Behind Her Back

I used this image a while back, at that time I posted it as a toned image. I thought I would try it again as a Black & White image.

Two lights were used, one was placed on either side  of the frame. The light on the left was slightly in front of the model while the light on the right was about even with the model. The light on the right was setup to create a little separation from the background.

This is a digital image processed in Lightroom. The contrast and exposure were adjusted and the image was cropped and rendered to a Black & White via global desaturation.
