Say hello to our slack agent 🔥
> The only slash command I remember is the gif one — me, 2026 We realized that forcing users to type out rigid commands, or making them switch contexts to open openstatus, was creating massive friction. Honestly? It was a complete DX-killer. That's why we should adapt to our users workflow, not the other way around. So, we completely re-thought our approach. Today, we’re launching a new Slack agent that works without a single slash command. https://lnkd.in/dJp-4b4c

When we started openstatus, we had a naive assumption: "Companies want to be 100% transparent about their uptime and incidents." The reality? Politics. We quickly realized that behind every status page, there are tough conversations happening. 👉 Legal is worried about SLA payouts. 👉 Sales is worried about reputation. 👉 Management is worried about "looking bad." Sometimes, total automation is too risky for the business side of things. We realized we couldn't just build for engineers; we had to build for the business reality, too. That’s why we are launching Static Components. This gives you full control over what you display, allowing you to manage the narrative while still keeping users informed. It’s the bridge between total opacity and radical transparency. 🔗 Link bellow 🔗

The untold story of openstatus Our secret is out
The first paying users of openstatus thought they were buying software. In reality they were buying Maximilian Kaske and me going to their website every minutes. When we started openstatus, there was no magic. There was only a simple input where people could submit their url and us opening a new chrome tabs. Every time we noticed an issue we sent an email. That feedback became the blueprint. Step by step we turned each part of my own manual workflow into software. emailing came first then the form then we launch sleep rotation And finally website checking. Each improvement replaced something we used to do by hand. What emerged was not just a status page tool with uptime monitoring but the most loved opensource status page tool with uptime monitoring. All of this started with a input, sleep deprivation and the mentality to do things that don't scale.
