I finally started reading the manual to my camera.  I didn’t finish reading it, but I started.  I was sitting in my bedroom at the time, and happily snapping shots at whatever I could see (which wasn’t much) to practice using the different settings.  One of my many unfinished projects right now is a skinny scarf made from this bright pink feathery yarn.  I just love the silky feeling it has, and I think it will turn out really cute, someday.  In the meantime, it sits collecting dust on my nightstand.  Maybe I’ll post another picture when I actually complete it!

A thank you note from a stranger caught me completely off guard today.  I’ve never had an experience quite like that one.  It was the nicest thing that has happened to me in some time.  Many thanks, complete stranger and new friend, many thanks.

The book never seems to get put away

A common sight… a Hymn book on the piano.  The simplified version means it was someone besides me doing the playing.  Today, Ryan was working on his new Hymn assignment, “I Need Thee Every Hour.”  It brings a nice feeling to have live piano music in the home.  Some unfortunate homes never get this blessing!

Yes, this one is food.  I’ve been doing a lot of experimenting with breakfast food, after my dear friend and ebook publisher asked me to write a cookbook.  Today, I made Chocolate Waffles for dinner.  Which were pretty yummy, but apparently don’t stay with you long.  Within 3 hours of eating, the boys were “starving” again.  It is really fun to try new things though!

Jen's point of view

Robb is probably going to kill me for posting this, but it was the only photo I had that wasn’t food.  I’ve been working on cookies and breakfasts a lot, and trying to snap a few of the family in between.  Most of my family shots have been quite horrendous, though.  This is how my cute husband looks from my point of view… strong, serious, and much taller than me.

This is actually a pretty common sight at our house… a carton of eggshells.  Robb has been eating eggs like they are going out of style.  I’ve had to start buying them in 18-packs instead of 12-packs, and I usually have 2 of those at a time.  Between the baking and the breakfast and the snacks, eggs are probably the most commonly eaten food item in our house!

In keeping with my new theme of playing with Picnik while I still can, I edited this nice photo of Glenn and Gunner. I just love this photo, and I think it really captures Glenn’s involved and loving style of fatherhood.  It is certainly not uncommon to see kids climbing on him.  It’s so nice to have this sweet and gentle attitude in the family.

I recently discovered the wonders of Picnik (online photo editing)… just in time for it to announce it’s demise.  The good news is that until mid-April, everyone gets to use Picnik premium for free!  So I’m going crazy, while I can.  I took this photo of Robb, and I thought it turned out amazing.  He looks great in it, and it really captures him.  I embellished with some effects, framing, and lettering to make the photo a little more memorable.  I’m thrilled with how it turned out!  I’m feeling pretty lucky to have this guy.

You're going over the wall!

This little episode of play fighting was so fun, I decided to post two pictures.  Quinn decided to give Robb a run for his money, and found out that his dad can still handle him!  Robb had fun teasing Quinn about throwing him over the half wall into the family room below.  Ryan can’t leave that game untouched, and he joined in.  Soon it was a two-against-one play fight!  There was a lot of laughter in the kitchen today.

Give it your best shot!

Love my Paparazzi jewelry!

I messed around, taking pictures of myself, but honestly, the one that turned out the best was this one of my hand.  It’s an okay picture, better than anything else I’ve taken, but it does make me want to take a photography class.  Oh, and I love my ring!  Can you tell?
