A photo-story of our beach vacation last week.
As I mentioned in my post from last week, I had been at the beach. I posted mid-trip with a little update of what we had been doing the first couple of days. This year was one of our best trips yet, besides my horrific sunburn. I can say nothing about this trip to do justice to the great time that we had, so it’s best to let some of the pictures I took speak for me.

I feel that a great foundation is the key to a cohesive makeup look. If your foundation doesn’t sit well on your skin or it doesn’t give you a complete coverage when doing a full face it takes away from other aspects. Whether you splurge and buy a $60 foundation or something less than$10 from the drugstore, it’s about three things: color, consistency, and skin.

This blog has become so important to me since I started it back in May. I started it just before my “interview” for my internship, I wanted to have something to show for all the years of writing I had been doing. I had the intentions of this blog being a place where I could spill my heart, a place where I could fill with words that needed to get out of my head and have a more permanent home. This blog was also intended for use as a writing portfolio to show future employers my writing, which is why I have more than just blog posts on this website.
Let’s be honest, terrariums are all the rage right now, and they have been for a while. There are a lot of really great looking air plant or cacti terrariums that you can’t help but lust over. For plant lovers like myself, having one or more terrariums is a necessity. I finally took the plunge this summer to make a terrarium & it’s taken me months to gather the supplies, but it’s finally done. I’m going to explain how to make a DIY terrarium for cacti & succulents!
Friday afternoon planting and some big ideas!
Yesterday was my first day back from the beach and let me just say, nothing felt better than walking into my room knowing I could shut the door allowing me to be by myself. I tried to be as productive as possible but how productive can you be when most of your day was spent in a car? However, what I did get done can be summed up with two words: planting & plotting.

At the end of my senior year, I became obsessed – no, dependant – upon my planner. I lost it for two whole miserable days before graduation and I was in a constant panic. Just after that incident, I began searching for the perfect planner for my first year of college. I was checking Pinterest for the best reviews of different planners and nothing felt right. Then, one day I heard an NPR segment.
The last couple of days have been so exciting! Sunday morning my mom, sister, and I left early for the beach! Since then we’ve been soaking up the sun and having a great time!
The days are long and mostly bright. It’s the time of year to catch fireflies, relax by the pool, run wild and free. These are the days that we supposedly long for and should cherish all our lives. I can’t tell you how many songs and books idealize and encapsulate the liveliness of this season that make us feel a sense of nostalgia for summers past and fantasize about future sunny days. However, it’s inching closer and closer to August as we speak, which means soon enough students will be going back to school and summer will basically be over.
