Starting Over and stuff… November 30, 2004

Kim and Jennifer need to graduate already.  What is Towanda doing?  Does she ever have any assignments?  And Denise.  Goodness sakes, someone should muzzle her for her own good.

Emma is home again sick today, so I hope to be Getting Stuff Done.  You know, like laundry and other ugly things.

I really have nothing to say so I will leave you with a family Thanksgiving conversation.

Me:  "Amanda had to call me from the store to ask where the cream of tartar was"
Amanda:  "Well, I was looking in the cooler, at the creams"
Everyone:  "hahaha"
Amanda:  "They should call it powder of tartar, cause it’s not a cream."

Indeed.

It took me forever to get this song downloaded, (seriously, like 3 days.  All peer to peer copies of it were FAKE!!)  but I finally got it and now I’m listening to it over and over and over…

Listen

"Boulevard Of Broken Dreams"
Green Day

I walk a lonely road

The only one that I have ever known
Don’t know where it goes
But it’s
home to me and I walk alone

My shadow’s the only one that walks beside me
My shallow hearts
the only thing that’s beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find
me
Till then I walk alone

Read between the lines
What’s fucked up and everythings all right
Check
my vital signs to know I’m still alive
And I walk alone

Loves it.  That’s hot.

No I haven’t showered yet.  We finally have most of our computers back up and I’m getting caught up.  Poor Mark has spent this entire weekend buried in reloads and defrags.

Ok.  Showering.  Really.

I owe…I owe…

It’s off to shop I go…

Ok, I don’t owe.  That’s one good thing abouut our finances is that we have virtually no debt.  With the exception of one loan of mine, all our debt is current and monthly.  Rent, utilities, etc.  We have revolving credit cards, but use them sparingly and pay them off within a month or two at the most.

I’m way behind on shopping, though am done with a few people.  We don’t go nuts on Christmas and I am grateful for that!

Mark and I sat down and went over our expenses recently and decided we needed to make a few changes.  Minor stuff – going out less, mostly.  I took my acrylic nails off too.  That was something I did when I was driving the limo, but it’s really unnecessary now.  I will miss my nail guy tho, I really got along good with him and I liked him a lot.  But that’s a good $35-40 a month that we don’t need to spend.

I had to stay home from work at the twins today because Emma is sick and my nose is a tad stuffy.  They don’t want me (or any of the nurses) to come over at all when there is an illness about us – even if it’s our kids and not us.  Emma is home from school today even, she was up late late late coughing and sniffling, even after meddies.  I wish she would get some rest and try to get over it but Mark is home today too so she is busy running around and playing.  Grr.  Pft to being not-the-mom.

Mark stayed home because of the weather…we had a huge snowfall and the roads were treacherous yesterday and this morning.  He drives nearly an hour to work, so he just called in.  It would have taken him at least twice as long to get to work, and it’s just not worth the hassle.

I’m going to take a shower and traipse out through the drifts to try to find my car and get some errands done.

Hope all is well where you are.

Sick people, sick computers… November 27, 2004

All of our computers at home are infected with some sort of virus, Rbot or some such nonsense.  The laptop is dead to the world and Mark is only letting us use Emma’s computer intermittently while he fixes everything.

Plus he has my dads computer over here to fix up, then add to that Mr and Mrs. K who came over at 10pm last night with their computer because it’s acting up.  Mark finally booted them out close to midnight.

I didn’t do my day after Thanksgiving shop o rama because no one wanted to go, and it’s really not that much fun to do alone.  I did get up to go to the bathroom at 5am Friday morning and Katie was up…saying now she wanted to go shopping.  Ugh…a day late and dollar short.  I need advance notice people!!

I’m off to figure out how to have a fun exciting Christmas with $37.

honk honk honk… November 25, 2004

That’s what I sound like this morning, that’s me blowing my nose.  I’m sick, so sick.  My mom is sick too.  She told us not to come over early, just come and eat.  My sinuses are on strike, my nose is full of grossness and my head is cloudy.  Katie wants me to hurry up and get ready so we can go to the store and get mashed potatoes, cause no one else is making them.  This has been the most disorganized Thanksgiving dinner planning ever.

As long as we don’t end up washing dishes in the bathtub, it’s fine with me.*

See y’all on the couch when the tryptophan kicks in.

*One year mom’s sink got backed up or some nonsense and we had to wash all the Thanksgiving dishes inthe bathtub.
