Lay your head on my chest and listen to my heart beating.
Don’t expect to hear a sound so relatable.
Hear those dispassionate long breaths that make their way out, through that congested self loathe inside.
Catch those sighs, narrating you stories about the obsolete hope of the past.
Feel the trail of those contractions that, in retaliation, long for a stoppage.
And as you bury your head deeper, you’d hear the beats playing a strain of reluctance.
If you lend an ear too much, you’d be able to hear the shallow aches and the abrupt notes in the melody, that my heart is beating to.
