Mother Theresa’s Poem – Anyway

Mother Theresa’s Poem – Anyway

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered;
…Forgive them anyway!

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
…Be kind anyway!

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
…Succeed anyway!

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
…Be honest and frank anyway!

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
…Build anyway!

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
…Be happy anyway!

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
…Do good anyway!

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
…Give the world the best you’ve got anyway!

You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God;
It was never between you and them anyway.

This is one of my favorite poems. I keep it on my desk as a reminder to keep going no matter what obstacles come along.

You may be looking for your path and finding the people around you don’t understand what you’re trying to do. Keep this poem handy and it will help you through those times and remind you what its really all about – anyway.

What we see is what we get or vise versa?

Posted on June 21, 2009. Filed under: Uncategorized | Tags: , , , , , , , , |

This is an 8 part explanation of the double slit experiment.

Why?

Because it is known as the Central Mystery of Science showing the only mystery of quantum mechanics.

Again, why? You ask.

Because it shows how the act of observing (being an observer) effects how particles (we’re all made of these, in fact everything is made of these) behave.

What does that have to do with spirituality/higher consciousness/energy/law of attraction?

It helps us understand how we effect our surroundings. It shows how science is looking at the tinsyest amount of matter and finding it depends on us to determine how it behaves. Imagine that!

The speaker, Ross Rohdes, makes it entertaining and its geared toward everyday people. Its about 60 minutes altogether (8 parts), but you can skip parts of it if you understand it already or get a bowl of popcorn and make yourself comfortable.

Its well worth watching to see how science is looking differently at who we are. I think you’ll be glad you watched. The good stuff is toward the end – naturally.  I think you’ll be surprised.

Are you the lightbulb or the darkness?

Posted on June 15, 2009. Filed under: Uncategorized | Tags: , , , , , , , |

Do you draw in energy and give off brillant light?  Every day we’re surrounded by people who are just existing.  They don’t have a clue what their potential is or even the curiosity to find out.  They are in the dark.

Energy has no limitations.  None!  You can draw on it anytime.  We must honor the limitations of our body and take care to nurture and protect it, but we need to stop telling ourselves we’re going to be exhausted by the end of the day or week.

We are all beautiful beings glowing with love.  Turn up the wattage in your life and you’ll share it everyone around you.  Gives a whole new meaning to beaming from ear to ear when you smile, doesn’t it? 🙂

Meditation style to try with great results

Posted on June 11, 2009. Filed under: Uncategorized | Tags: , , |

Even if you’ve never tried meditation, here is a very simple one with surprising results.  At first, you might “see” things that are uncomfortable, but stay with it.  You can get to a point of doing this throughout your day with very little effort.  I hope you’ll give it a try and enjoy.

Find a place where you can sit comfortably, undisturbed, for  20 minutes or more. Sit on the floor or in a chair with your back and head held straight. Your eyes are best closed as you remain still, moving only if it is really necessary. If you must move, notice how and why you are moving.

Simply be aware of in-and-out breathing. You may feel that your breathing is too short, too long, too gentle or too heavy. Don’t try to control it. Stop judging. Just let it be, let it settle by itself as you watch.

It is the process of watching which is the meditation, not what you are watching. Remember not to become identified with, or pulled into whatever comes up: thoughts, ideas, emotions, judgements, feelings, body sensations, images.  Don’t listen to the chatter, it will quiet after a while.

When you become distracted, gently refocus your attention on your breathing. There’s nothing wrong. Keep at it. If questions or problems arise which require an answer, let them wait until your meditation time is over.
Keep watching and breathe…

Reread these instructions several times until you understand it is not about what comes up or judging what you see, but the process of watching.  Try not to have any preconcieved notions of what to expect. Open your mind and let your spirit soar.  You’ll be amazed!  Enjoy.

Every little bit helps

Posted on June 9, 2009. Filed under: Uncategorized | Tags: , , , , |

Stephen Covey told a story in one of his early books about a bus ride that changed the way he looked at people.  He was on a bus when a man and his children boarded and sat down.  After a while, the children got bored and started acting up.  They were running around, bothering the other passengers and the man didn’t seem to notice any of it.

Finally, someone said something to him and he shook himself as if he’d been in a trance.  He apologized for his children and explained they had just left the hospital.  He supposed the children were acting up because they’d just lost their mother.

The passengers that had been very annoyed with the behavior of the children and apparent lack of parenting were immediately caring and loving people reaching out to the man to offer support and sympathy.

Be careful not to assess a situation too quickly.  Compassion goes a long way when annoying situations present themselves.  Try to look beyond the obvious surface events and see what’s going on.

These are perfect times to practice your sense of perception.  Close your eyes and feel what’s going on around you.

Even if you can’t physically do anything for the person, send them good feelings and positive affirmations to help them through their day.  It may not be apparent right away, but you know every little bit helps.

We are creating the world? Absolutely!

Posted on June 8, 2009. Filed under: Uncategorized | Tags: , , |

“We are participants in the creation of the world.” http://contacttalkradio.soundwaves2000.com:8080/ctr/scienceforlife080608.mp3  “The future’s so bright you have to wear shades!”

Each one of us is creating our world as we live each moment of our lives.  Science is finding all kinds of aspects of creation that can only be explained by the realization that we are all connected.

This audio takes a bit to get to the good stuff but its worth waiting for it.  I hope you enjoy it and I want to thank affirming spirit at twitter for the link.  Thank you!

Emotional Ambience

Posted on June 8, 2009. Filed under: Uncategorized | Tags: , , , |

Thoughts, ideas, emotions…where do they exist really?  Are they only in our mind, brain, heart, gut…?  When you think of them, where are they?

I doubt many of you see them inside your heads, rolling around in your brain.  Our thoughts, ideas and emotions exist around us, through us, exuding from us.

Have you ever boarded an elevator and wanted to get right back off and didn’t know why?  You find yourself glancing around to try to figure it out.  You’re feeling the emotions of the people and someone is probably feeling a negative emotion that you are feeling in the small space.

Now, think of entering a party room.  You can immediately tell the emotion of the room and how things are going before anyone says a word.

Have you ever given someone a hug and known there was something wrong, even though they’re saying everything is great?

We say a lot with our body language and words, but we say so much more with our emotional ambience.

What is your emotional ambience today?
